Why do I need to register to ask questions and see answers to questions?

Registration is required to keep the quality of the site good. Also registration is required so we can inform you when your questions have been answered and to notify the experts (if they choose to be notified) that they have questions in their chosen categories.

How do I register ?

It's simple. Just ask a question in the box on the homepage, then click Go. You will then have to choose what category best suits your question from the drop down menu. You may have to click several times on the drop down menu until you come to the right category. Next, put your name and e-mail address in box along with your handle (user name) then click Ask.

This is a one-time registration.

When the form is filled and submitted, it will automatically send you an e-mail with your password.

You can then use the existing users' log on box in the top right-hand corner to log in.

Your e-mail address cannot be seen by any other person on the site unless you are an expert and choose to show it in your profile.

We use your e-mail address to automatically notify you when your question has been posted and answered and will not send any unsolicited e-mail to you or use your e-mail address in any other inappropriate way!

Another way to register is by choosing to become an Expert. This allows you both to ask and to answer questions. Simply click on Go in the area that says 'Are you an Expert in your field?' Then fill out the Expert Profile form (address and telephone numbers are optional). Your information will be authorised and a password will be sent to you.

You can update your profile as often as you like. Just remember to click Update at the bottom of the form when finished.

Why is my question not shown on site?

All questions and answers have to be authorised before being shown on the site. Direct homework questions and questions that make little sense will not be authorised.

How do I see answers to my question?

You will automatically be e-mailed to notify you when your questions have been answered. To see the answers log on and click on the ‘Go to see the different specialist areas’ and then click on the link ‘Your previously asked questions’

Can I change my password to one of my choice?

Yes, you can. Just log on and click on 'Update user profile' at the top right of the homepage. Clear out your old password and put the new one in. Remember to click on Update to complete the change.

What is the response time for a question to be answered?

Most questions get answered with in a day or two. Some questions are even answered within the hour. Some of the more challenging questions may take longer.

How does the rating system work?

1 - Poor
2 – Fair
3 – Good
4 – Very Good
5 - Excellent

Please rate the answers as YOU perceive them!

Experts are encouraged to answer questions even if they have already been answered and rated highly. As in time the best answers should be rated higher, this is because of the unique rating system we have.
