concerned
I have been on Ovranette contraceptive pill since I was 16(11 yrs) my periods had been improved by taking it and were no longer heavy or painful, but over the last year I have found them to become irregular. They either are coming very late in my 7 pill free days or not at all (I have experienced this more lately) also I my emotions have become more prominent prior to when I should begin my period and I have experienced more cramps. I have done pregnancy tests and they were all negative. My body feels like it is going through menstruation but is showing no actual signs of it. should I request a smear test or blood tests at my doctor? or should I not worry?

11 years is a long time to be on the same pill - science has moved on, there are new types of pill on the market. Any change in your menstrual cycle should be checked out by your doctor.
You might find - now your 27 rather than 16 - your periods are less painful anyway. Your body has matured a lot since you went on this pill, time for a check up I think!
Good luck - and try not to worry - there's probably nothing wrong, all sort of things can affect menstrual stuff - mood, diet, stress, exercise - and many are perfectly normal, completely reversable and not damaging in the long term. But I would suggest that a change of pill might now be advisable.
