During the peri-menopause your hormones fluctuate, so it's possible you could get a normal reading one day, and a different one another. Your practise nurse should not be giving her opinion, your doctor has asked for the hormone screen and should be the one to draw conclusions from it. Your doctor should either retest for menopausal hormone levels or continue looking for the source of your symptoms.
Be sure to tell the doctor how scared you are - tell him what you are scared might be wrong, they may be able to put your mind at rest.
