Coming into the US from any other country, you will have to take all written and driving exams in Nevada for the new class of vehicles you wish to drive here. This is unfortunate, but most insurance companies will respect the 8 years you were licensed over there towards building a driving record in the US.
I moved to Los Angeles in 2000 from Canada, and had to take the written and driving tests, despite having been driving for over a decade. I did so anyhow, and my local insurance agent (State Farm) got a copy of my driving record from Canada and considers me as having had a driver's license since 1990, not since 2000 when I moved to the US, and got a substantial reduction in my insurance premiums for the extra time driving.
