I would like know my legal rights in the break of my marriage that was caused by myself committing adultery. My husband and I have a large mortgage and 2 dependants. Would I be forced to sell house as my husband has stated and would I lose my children?

The woman usually gets the children - and the house to keep them in. Even though you are an adulterer what to do with the children takes top priority. There is an outside chance that your husband would want to provide full time care for the children and keep the house. I doubt if he would be able to prove that you are unfit to look after them properly just because of one adulterous episode.

The answer depends on a number of matters but top of the list is the children's interests irrespective of the cause of breakdown.
