Mrs Gayle Sharp
My 2 year old tiny female chihuahua has decided she would not use her wee wee pad anymore. She started urinating right next to it. It's like she's afraid of the pad.

I have been taking her outside many times every day, and I'm not always going to be home to do this. She will sometimes hold it in for hours and hours. I don't want her to be miserable.

I've tried everything I know to get her back to her pad. HELP!! What can I do?

Try to relocate the pad or get a new one. Sometimes dogs feel the need to go where other dogs have been in order to mark territory too and when she smells her pad, it becomes a necessity that she wants to go outside instead. If you have a neighbor or friend who can drop by to allow her to do this she will be fine. My Chows would only go outside because they didn't want to use paper in a certain location in the home anymore. It's can also be a sign of respect for you when they insist on it.
