How long will my my friends case of acute autacariaa last, he's had it 11 1/2 weeks up till now and had 2 coursesen of antibiotics 2 of steroids and now 3 weeks weeks of something else?

Do you mean Urticaria - also known as nettle rash, hives, and welts: antihistamines are the first drug that is usually used.
it is no longer acute but chronic. Six weeks and less make it acute. Women tend to get the chronic form more than men on a 4:1 basis. There is no gender prevalence for the acute version.
50% of people have symptoms lasting 3 years and 20% for over 10 years.
