Looking an awful lot like another schoolwork question.

Subtract 15 from both sides.

Divide both sides by 9.

You'll get x>__ where you answer will be in the blank.

Dear Mr. Ian,

The expression you have given is an equation. Equations need not always have an "=" sign. It may also have a "<" or ">" sign. What is important that there should be a comparison between 2 algebraic expressions for it to be an equation.

NOW TO THE ANSWER OF YOUR QUESTION:

To solve the equation 9x+15>60, we first solve the equation 9x+15=60.
On solving 9x+15=60, we get x = 5 !!!!!!!!

Now, as the value of "x" increases, the value of the left hand side of the equation will increase. And hence, the equation 9x+15>60 will still hold true as the value of the left hand side of the equation will always be greater than 60. This means the value of "x" should be more than 5 !!!!!!!!!!!
However if the value of "x" falls bellow 5, the value of the left hand side of the equation will fall to less than 60. This means the value of "x" can not be more than 5 !!!!!

So the answer to 9x+15>60 is that x>5

Note that there is no "=" sign in the answer as the question itself was not involving an "=" sign. The equation in the question was an unequal equation.
