Ovulation Predictor kits give me different ovulation dates to those on the ovulation calculators, which are more accurate?

Discuss this question

Question found in Parenting & Family In General
Prediction kits are often the most useful as they tell you in advance of ovulation rather then when it's already happened.

The 'fertile window' spans 4 or 5 days around ovulation because of the length of time sperm can live inside the vagina - up to 5 days.

If by 'mad' you mean crazy - then yes it can. Paranoia, delusions, hallucinations, voices - you name it, it can cause it.

How often, statistically, do men leave their wives for "the other woman"?

Discuss this question

Question found in People & Relationships In General
It happens - but not very often. I don't know the exact figures but please be clear on one thing - the man leaves the wife because he wants to anyway or because the wife doesn't want him any more - he usually doesn't leave 'for' the other woman. Many men will start affairs to give themselves an excuse to leave. They are already unhappy and want to leave but haven't got the emotional maturity or decency to be able to. Women too - not just men here.

The more interesting statistic would be that of among the men who leave their wife as a result of an affair, do exactly the same to the woman they leave for.

Sometimes, just sometimes, a man can fall desperately in love outside his marriage and can leave for the other woman - then go on to have a blissfully happy life with her. But it's very seldom, and it takes a very strong relationship to withstand all the bad stuff that'll some it's way through the divorce and then go on to survive the paranoia of 'is he doing it to me?'.

How often, statistically, do men leave their wives for "the other woman"?

Discuss this question

Question found in Intimate Relationships
Hardly ever. And if they do, what's to say that they won't leave 'the other woman' for another 'other woman'.

If a man wants to leave his wife, he will. He won't wait until the holidays are over, or birthdays are past. The longer it goes on the less like he is to leave - but the longer it goes on the more adept he becomes at lying, the more disrespectful he's being to both women. Why should either woman put up with that? Both women deserve to have the respect of their man, to know that he doesn't sleep with someone else, doesn't tell someone else he loves them - doesn't kiss someone else.

Don't put up with it - you are worth more than a part share in a person.

What is a dream?

How is it happening?

Is it the conversation between God and human beings?

Discuss this question

Question found in Dreams
This site http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dream is interesting on the subject giving lots of info.

Personally I think dreams have no meaning. I'm not convinced that dreams aren't part of waking, rather than sleeping. Obviously we can measure brain activity whilst sleeping, but the interpretation put on that activity - when is that applied - at the time in sleep or when one wakes? Ever tried to go back into a dream - you know the one when you have having a great time but then you briefly wake up because of a cat fight outside or something - you are only awake for seconds, but you can't pick up on that same dream - why? I reckon because it's the act of waking that puts pictures and thoughts around the brain signals, those electrical synaptic jumps.

Don't worry too much about your dreams, don't read too much into them. No-one can foretell the future - for the simple reason that it hasn't happened yet, and can't be seen.

Enjoy your dreams, marvel at the creativity they express, even if it's in a dark manner that your dreams express themselves, so what? I spent my childhood dreaming of people who I called "the milk people" faceless white people, featureless and scary. I still grew up. No-one with a featureless face has ever chased me. It meant nothing. I'd glimpsed something that got stored, and the brain reproduced it every now and then when I wasn't expecting it.

Why were the poets of the 1930`s called the "pink poets"?

Discuss this question

Question found in Literature In General
I could only find reference to 'pink poets' in Dutch literature - in the 1960s Pernath was the leader of the Antwerp Pink Poets’ Society, a group of artists who favoured a dandyesque lifestyle. He wrote unruly poetry, using overblown sentences to express his misanthropy and preoccupation with the thought of death and the impossibility of harmonious communication through language.

What did the Romanian side Steaua Nicolae Belcescu plan to put around their pitch to prevent pitch invasions?

Discuss this question

Question found in Football In General
Chairman Alexandra Cringus came up with the 'innovative' concept of creating a moat surrounding the pitch, packed with fully-grown crocodiles. "This is not a joke," insisted Cringus. "We can get crocodiles easy enough and feed them on meat from the local abattoir. The ditch is planned to be wide enough that no one could manage to jump over it. Anyone who attempted to do so would have to deal with the crocs. I think that the problem of fans running on to the pitch will be solved once and for all."

Is marijuana bad for you if you don't smoke it. Does it have any long term effects?

Discuss this question

Question found in Alternative Medicine
By taking it added to food you would be avoiding the harmful effects of the smoking - but not of the drug itself. Mental disease, paranoia, depression, psychosis are all possible long terms effects.

Follow up to the smoking ban question. (Thank you for all the previous answers) I do not want to promote smoking, it is bad for your health. We all have a choice in life, some people eat too much, gamble too much, have bad relationships, drink too much, have dangerous jobs/hobbies, have little exercise and eat the wrong foods etc all could be deemed bad for your health.

I think a total ban is over the top when a partial ban done correctly would have eliminated passive smoking. I agree however with a total ban in restaurants, pubs that do food and public transport.

If there really was a big need for this, why are there no non smoking pubs already that are run by entrepreneurs that have seen a gap in the market? Whilst I can see the that a non smoker does not want to breathe in the smoke of a smoker, this surely could have been achievable, after all, isn't life about compromise and live and let live? Whatever next, no drinking in pubs?! ;-)

Just a thought, I know of a few old people who fought in the 2nd world war who like nothing more than a pint and a puff of their pipe in their local.

Question found in Miscellaneous
I agree we all have choice in life, all the activities you list are choices people take that can harm themselves, that are risky. But they are risky and damaging to themselves, not to those around them or those serving them.

I'm an ex-smoker. Not a day goes by that I don't crave a cigarette. But I know it was harming me, my children, my family. So I stopped. Eventually. It was horrible.

It's ironic you should use the term 'live and let live' because that's kind of the idea of the ban - smokers let the non-smokers live by not breathing in smoke and non-smokers put up with being deserted while the smokers go outside and smoke.

Comments :
I just feel there could have been a compromise where by if your a smoker then you can go and have a smoke with out disturbing the non-smokers.
