I have an itchy mole??

Discuss this question

Question found in Health & Fitness In General
Hi there,

Any significant mole or similar skin blemish ought to be treated as possibly a symptom of something else - just in case. I'd visit your doctor as soon as possible and get it looked at. It's most likely just a mole but you ought to be on the safe side.

What causes a bushfire?

Discuss this question

Question found in Animals & Nature
Hi there,

Two things are needed. First is a long hot spell that dries out the bush and makes it ready to burn easily. The second is a source of ignition. This can be natural in a few cases, such as volcanic activity. But more often it's a spark caused by humans - either a cigarette or campfire. Occasionally bush fires are set deliberately in a controlled way so as to prevent the greater devastation that would be caused by a naturally occurring fire.

I've just removed old wood-chip wallpaper from a wall, only to find gloss paint covering the plaster. Some bits have peeled away with the wallpaper but I'm not sure how to remove the rest. Can anyone help, please? Thank you.

Discuss this question

Question found in DIY
Hi there,

I'm afraid it sounds like you may have a problem on your hands. It may be possible to remove the gloss paint, depending on what surface it was applied to. If it was applied straight onto the plaster, you'll need to be very careful not to damage the surface underneath or you'll have an lot of fussy filling to do.

Are you planning to re-paper or to paint? Either way you may be better off leaving the gloss paint and coating it with something to provide a key such as Unibond. In that case, I'd be inclined to re-paper rather than re-paint because you'll have a better chance of concealing the areas where the gloss has already come off.

Comments :
I found this helpful. The idea of putting up lining paper is not what I wanted to hear - but it does make sense and is probably cheaper than getting the place replastered. Thank you.

Hi, Is there a device to stop children playing outside your home that sends out a signal? If so how can I purchase? Thank you.

Discuss this question

Question found in Home & Garden In General
Hi there,

I'm afraid you've been misinformed. There are devices that deter cats and dogs from your garden by emitting ultrasonic sounds waves beyond the range of human hearing. But there is no such device for getting rid of children - and if there were, I'm sure it would be highly illegal. The only device you can buy for getting rid of children is a maths textbook.

Same question. Last answer was WRONG.

Why isn't there a rating of ZERO?

Maybe I wasn't clear enough. I understand there are many, many categories. Most would say too many.

When they refer to the picture and the picture ONLY they say "Best Picture OF THE YEAR."

When they refer to any of the other

awards it is simply. "Best [whatever]. NO "OF THE YEAR."

The only award defined with "OF THE YEAR" is the best picture award.

Why?

Question found in Performing Arts In General
Hi there,

All of the awards presented by the Academy are for work on films that have been made in the last year. There are one or two special awards (such as the lifetime achievement award) that don't come in this category, but all the other awards, incuding best actor, best screenplay, best supporting actor, etc etc are for films that were released in the previous 12 months - that is one of the conditions of nomination.

Comments :
ZERO RATING
I understand the criteria for the awards. I may not know the specifics but obviously the awards are given for those performances / achievements in the previous year.
The question was / is why do they ONLY call the Movie award for "BEST MOVIE OF THE YEAR" none of the others say that.

What is the important nutrient for growth in a Mynah bird ?

Discuss this question

Question found in Pets In General
Hi there,

The experts say that you should feed your Mynah water, fresh fruits such as apples, pears, peaches, guavas, grapes and plums, and commercially available Mynah food.

You need to avoid acidic fruit and foods that contain iron, because some birds, including Mynah, can accumulate iron in their bodies causing diseases.

Question found in Animals & Nature
Hi there,

It's best to avoid feeding Mynah foods that are rich in iron (like broccoli and similar green vegetables) because it can lead to a disease called Hemochromatosis, or iron storage disease, which can cause inflammation of various internal organs.
