How can I find a real work from home job without having to fork over money?

Discuss this question

Question found in Websites
Hi there,

As I'm sure you already know, any 'job' that asks you to pay money up front is a scam - don't do it. The only real way I know of earning money at home is to stuff direct envelopes on behalf of direct mail houses (also called mailing houses or mail fulfilment houses). There are bound to be one or more in your area (check yellow pages). It's no picnic but they deliver to your door and collect the work, they usually have projects on the go and if they're any good they will pay regularly. If they're not move onto the next one.

Is there such a thing as a person having either thin blood or thick blood?

Discuss this question

Question found in Health & Fitness In General
Hi there,

Yes there is. The factor that blood labs measure is coagulability, how quickly or slowly your blood clots. If it's too 'thick' then there is a danger that you may get blood clots that could travel to the heart, lungs or brain (causing a stroke). Such people usually are prescribed wafarin which 'thins' the blood or makes it clot less easily.

There are also haemophiliacs who have the opposite complaint, in that their blood clots slowly or not at all, which makes them very vulnerable to cuts.

My sister just recently lost her best friend Racheal and while she and Racheal's mom were going through her things they found her unused birth control packets. Now my sister has taken multiple different brands of birth control and has never had a problem with side affects. Do you think that is is safe for her to take her friends pills? And does birth control ever expire?

Discuss this question

Question found in Women's Health
Hi there,

Depends what you mean by 'safe'. All pills have an expiry date, including birth control pills. This should be printed on the packet. If there is no date, then the only safe thing to do is to assume they have expired and throw them away.

There is no reason why your sister should use her friend's pills. If your sister goes to her doctor, in confidence, the doctor will prescribe birth control pills for her if she feels she needs them.

What is the reason for not getting the skull fusion even at 18yrs?

Discuss this question

Question found in Anatomy
Hi there,

The human skull consists of plates which do not fuse together fully until the age of 20 to 30 years primarily in order to give the brain a chance to grow as the individual develops into adulthood. It has recently been discovered that their is a protein (amusingly named Noggin) which inhibits the fusing of the bones and this protein stops being produced in the twenties usually.

Doosra is an Urdu word that has been used to describe the ball delivery invented by Pakistan's spin bowler Saqlain Mushtaq in the mid 1990s.
The Doosra is an off-spin ball that turns from leg to off. According to the Wikipedia, the term Doosra, which means 'the other one' in Urda was coined by Pakistan's wicket keeper Moin Khan who would call out to Mushtaq to 'bowl the doosra'.

Do you think Home and Away produces a fake image of Australians?

Discuss this question

Question found in TV & Radio
Hi there,

All soap operas tend to give a distored image in certain ways. One that I've often noted is that they all seem to hark back almost unconsciously to a previous era. Here in Britain, East Enders and Coronation Street seem to be stuck somewhere around the 1950s or 1960s, and I get the same old-fashioned feel from Australian soaps like Neighbours and Home and Away.

How people are in love with their cousins?

Discuss this question

Question found in Alternative In General
Hi there,

Not exactly sure what your question is here, but you probably know that most societies discourage marriage between cousins. The reason is that if two people who are unrelated marry and have a child, then if one of them has a genetic defect (say, for example, sickle cell anemia) then the other person's healthy gene will replace the defective one. But if two people are closely related (like cousins) marry then there is a higher chance that if one has a genetic defect, then the other will have the same defect so their child is more likely to be born with that defective gene.
