I've got a rover 400 and I had to change the back box exhaust but the 2 bolts that hold it together were seized completely so I sawed through the bolts but then I couldn't remove what was left of them. Tomorrow I'm taking it to a garage for them to sort out so I'm asking how difficult would it be to remove these as they are round ends and how long would it take? please help thanks |

Hi there, Hmmm. You could be lucky and the remainder may come away with a little persuasion from some WD40 and a few taps with a screwdriver. If not then they will have to be drilled out which would take half an hour to an hour depending. It's nasty, but shouldn't add phenomenally to the bill. |

Hi there, A location quotient is a technique used in economics to analyse the make up of a country or a region's economy. This involves comparing the local economy to some external standard or reference economy and drawing conclusions from the comparison. For instance, suppose that 1% of the workforce of the United States are employed in computers, but in China the figure is 2%. The economist might draw the conclusion that China is employing twice the percentage of its workforce than is necessary for home consumption of computers, so it is heavily engaged in producing computers for export (an assumption that actually is the case at the moment). |

Hi there, It's a tricky one, isn't it? I've been there myself. Here's what I feel. Your friendship has already endured long enough and sounds strong enough to survive a minor hiccup. That will probably include the present situation, even if you do get it wrong. Ask yourself how you would feel and how you would react if your roles were reversed and he admitted fancying you but you didn't return his feelings. Would it be the end of the line for you? Or would you tactfully explain how you felt, adding that you didn't want anything to spoil your friendship? I'm guessing probably the second. He may feel the same. My guess (being a man myself) is that similar thoughts to yours must have gone through his mind at some time or other and it wouldn't take too much in the way of hints for him to wake up to what you are saying. Suppose, for example, you went out for a meal together one evening and you presented him with a single rose for his buttonhole? It would then be up to him to respond or play it cool. I foresee two possible difficulties. The first is the one that is the subject of the film When Harry Met Sally: can a man and a woman ever be friends without sex coming into the equation sooner or later? The second is can you handle the disappointment and carry on with your friendship if it turns out that he doesn't feel the same way? But I don't want to end this answer on a negative note. The chances are that he feels like you to some extent, and you need to find a tactful and natural way to get the subject out into the open, while leaving him an escape hatch. |

Hi there, The word "impossible" is too big to use lightly, especially where pregnancy is concerned, but the chances of becoming pregnant once your period has started are very, very low. Why not buy a test kit from your local pharmacy or on the internet and put your mind at rest? Or visit your doctor for a confidential examination? |

Hi there, A laser beam is capable of generating a very high temperature in a very small localised spot and hence melting (and perhaps also vapourising) the metal sheet to be cut. The advantages of laser cutting are that it leaves a polished finish (unlike a metal cutting tool) gives higher precision (because the beam does not wear away in use) and it is not necessary for the cutter to come in physical contact with the workpiece. |

Hi there, When a company considers launching a new product or service it's first task is to segment the potential market it is aiming at - that is to draw up a list of target customers in terms of age, gender, geography and other features that are relevant to the product. Next they will survey a representative sample of the target audience (again, representative in terms of age, gender etc) and ask them question designed to find out if they already use such a product, or if they would use the planned product. It is, of course, crucially important that at this stage they ask the right questions. In 1985, Coca Cola made the classic mistake of surveying a large number of customers and asking them 'Do you like the taste of new Coke?'. A majority said yes. But what Coke hadn't told them was that New coke was going to completely replace old coke. When customers discovered this they rioted. Hi there, I'm sorry to have to tell you this but the overwhelming majority of household dust is composed of human skin particles (Eeeew). That's one reason why many people (myself included) are allergic to household dust, because it is an organic material. |

My wife died in January after a very long illness. She wrote me a letter in which she said that one day we would be reunited in heaven and have the marriage that we could not have when she was alive. She then told me to get on with my life. Now I am in a quandary, I want to be reunited with her when I die but do not want to spend the rest of my life alone until then as I am only 46 years old. This is testing my faith and I do not know what to do. If I have another relationship now what happens when I get to heaven and have 2 wives. I know this sounds strange but it is a genuine question, can anyone help? What takes precedence my remaining time on earth or in heaven? |

Hi there, I understand how sensitive this question must be for you because I, too, was recently bereaved. With great respect, I don't think this is a question of theology but a question of your wife's wishes. You say that she wanted you to get on with your life. I feel sure that this is true - because she loved you, she wanted you to be happy not miserable, and she wanted you to live your life to the full. Your wife anticipated that you would have a life to live and wrote that she wanted you to get on with it. If you wish to honour your wife's memory, then carry out her wishes and live the rest of your life, seeking as much happiness as you can. At your relatively young age, that is bound to involve seeking another partner to share your life. Loving another person does not mean that you love your wife any less, something that she knew perfectly well. No one can ever say what the future will bring, and that is why I believe one has a duty to seize the moment and live life to the full. |
