hello
hello. I am only 17. Me and my fiance have been together for 4months! Well we just started having sex on December 17, 2006. We stopped on January 3, 2007 because he had to go back to basic training for the national guard. Well since before he left I have been having alot more craving for food than I usually do. I have also had to Urinate alot more. My breasts are sore around the nipple but mostly on the inside where they "meet"! My legs have been getting really sore and I have had alot of backaches. I have looked everywhere to see about pregnancy and it keeps telling me to put in the first day of my last period. Which was December 19, 2006. Can you help me out at all?

The symptoms you are having are typical of pregnancy. Until you know for sure, I'd behave as if you were pregnant -- i.e. eating well, not drinking alcohol, no drugs, take a good multivitamin with folic acid, calcium and iron. And get a pregnancy test. The home pregnancy tests are easy to use, and are highly accurate. With the last day of your period being December 19, you would be 4 weeks pregnant on January 16. Most pregnancy tests will show a positive by that time.

I have always considered the wetlands on the coast (answer b) to be marshes, as distinguished from a swamp, which you find in tropical or subtropical lowlands.

How can I tell whether I have a sinus infection or allergies ?
Discuss this question
| Question found in Personal Health Issues |
A sinus infection usually causes pain in the sinus areas (forehead, cheekbones, sometimes sort of in the middle of your head), fever, nasty nasal discharge which may be yellow, green or grey, and generally feeling ill. You may be stuffy and have trouble breathing through your nose. Allergies can cause the stuffiness also, but are usually accompanied by a clear nasal drainage, no fever, and while there may be headache or sinus pressure, it is not as intense as an infection.

Are pain medications hurting my unborn child?
Discuss this question

| Question found in Pregnancy |
Possibly. Maybe even probably. If you take an occasional narcotic pain reliever, like fewer than one a month, probably no harm is being done. But if you are taking narcotics on a regular basis, your baby will be born addicted, and will suffer withdrawal symptoms after birth. There is some thought too that early exposure to narcotics, as happens when the pregnant mother takes them, or the breastfeeding mother takes them and passes them on to the baby, can cause a predisposition to addictive problems later in the child's life. It would certainly be best if you didn't take any medication you can live without while pregnant or breastfeeding.

Is there any oil to enlarge penis size?
Discuss this question

| Question found in Personal Health Issues |
I am sorry to say there isn't. Not to enlarge it in any useful way, anyhow. It is possible that an irritant oil, or one you are allergic to, would cause a temporary enlargement as a result of inflammation, but as soon as the inflammation subsided, the enlargement would too.

When should my daughter have her first pelvic exam?
Discuss this question

| Question found in Women's Health |
Unless there is a specific problem to indicate the need for it, I don't usually do pelvic exams on girls or young women until they become sexually active. If this is something she might not be fully honest with you about, you could take her to see a women's health care provider and leave the room while they talk. The provider should be able to elicit the needed information with privacy to talk to your daughter. Menstrual problems, pain, unusual discharge, or any concern on your daughter's part might call for a pelvic exam. But in a normal girl who has not had sex, it is unusual to find any problems that would require a pelvic exam. Sex is what exposes young women to things like HPV (human papilloma virus) which causes cervical cancer.

Is blood in seamen bad ?
Discuss this question
| Question found in Personal Health Issues |
I would say it is possibly bad. Blood in the semen can be from an infection, injury, or worst case scenario, from cancer. But it can also occur for no apparent reason, and go away just like it came on. Best bet is to see a urologist for an evaluation since there is the possibility it is serious.

A midwife once told me that we get absolutely miserable at the end of our pregnancies so we'll be ready to endure labor. If you are miserable enough, the pain of labor and pushing out the baby seem worthwhile just to end the agony of the pregnancy. It can even make you look forward to labor! If your doctor/midwife has done everything appropriate to be sure nothing is wrong, I'd try to endure. If you have access to a warm swimming pool, being in water can temporarily relieve your symptoms, but getting out of the water is hellish as gravity takes hold again. Raspberry tea may help, and I agree with the expert who suggested resting lying on your left side. It will be over soon!

Why might a penis remain smaller than average at the age of 19?
Discuss this question
| Question found in Personal Health Issues |
Consider what "average" means. It is a number that represents what you get when you add up all the different measurements in a group, then divide by the number in the group -- so some are going to be larger, some smaller. Normal (not average!) can range from 3.5 to 10 inches. Abnormally small penises can be from a variety of causes ranging from hormone deficiencies to surgical accidents during circumcision. Please find a urologist to get an objective opinion as to whether there is anything "wrong" with your penis.

Me and my partner have been trying for a baby since January and we are unable to conceive. Do you have any tips?
Discuss this question

| Question found in Pregnancy |
Since January -- so that's almost a year. You should undoubtedly be evaluated by a specialist, but until you do that, here are some tips that might help:
1. Don't get up right away after sex. You might even try getting in a knee-chest position for 10 to 20 minutes afterward to allow the semen to pool near your cervix and get inside where it will do the most good.
2. Have an orgasm as soon as possible after your partner ejaculates in you. Orgasm is thought to help draw the sperm up into the uterus.
3. Timing counts. If you are following your menstrual cycle and basal body temperatures, you can pretty well figure out when you ovulate. Having sex at the time of ovulation will greatly increase your chances. If you have a 28 day cycle, it is likely you will ovulate on day fourteen from the first day of your last period.
4. There is some thought that the expectorant guaifenesin can thin cervical secretions and help the sperm have an easier time getting past the cervix.
5. Or, just check your cervical mucus (put a finger in your vagina and withdraw some of the secretion). Mucus that is slippery and stretchy is more likely to be "fertile mucus". Mucus that is thicker and sticky or tacky will impede sperm.
I must reiterate though, a specialist can be helpful. If your partner has a low sperm count, or if you have fertility problems, none of this is likely to help.
Good Luck!
