What percentage of scientists believe in god?

| Question found in Science In General |
I cannot give any statistical figures - no one can. But I can say this much.
At the start of the 20th century many scientists thought that science had all the answers and that what cannot be proved by science need not be believed.
But great cosmologists and biologists now know that they have no answers to many fundumental questions. Physics is leading slowly to metaphysics, biology to theology. The few scientists like the author of God Delusion who are atheistic are so because they are brought up in fanatical, fundumentalist belief systems that do not cater for reason. Otherwise most scientists of today believe in a great force or energy that was there before the begining and from which all this came to be.

It cannot because it is in space. Why we do not fall into space? Due to gravity, even so earth is held in position by the gravity of the sun along with certain other forces. It is the solar gravity that keeps earth in the orbit of the sun.

How does a molecule move in a fluid?
Discuss this question
| Question found in Science In General |
The motion of molecules in a liquid is a random unpredictable motion known as Brownian Motion. Robert brown observed that tiny pollens in a drop of water are moving a short distance and quickly change direction as if kicked about by a team of soccer players. What causes this was not understood for a long time till Einstein explained it at the begining of the 20th century.
Molecules in liquids are never at rest. These moving particles hit each other and this causes the direction of the particles.

How to be friendly with own children?
Discuss this question
| Question found in Parenting & Family In General |
Friendship with one's children - a very good concept. I wish in this 21st century every parent thought as you did.
Parental love and affection is not enough to develop this relationship of friendship. In this regard the important thing is to accept the child as an individual with its own personality; as a person with his/her own views, knowledge and ideas. The general tendency is to suppress such ideas and treat the children as ignorant beings who must be stuffed with your knowledge and views. A parent must even accept a certain degree of equality with the children.
Friendship exists only among equals. A king and one of his subjects can be great friends once the king acepts him as an equal, not in wealth or power but in intellect or otheraspects of personality.
Parents cannot consider children as their equal in age, but in several other ways this equality must be established as a foundation for a relationship as friends. For one the child, its parents and grand parents are equal in the eyes of God as His children. A master-slave relationship as in some cases in the past must not be the basis of this relationship.
Once we recognize equality of some sort we can develop th erelationship as you dreamed through selfless love and affection.

How to control anger?
Discuss this question
| Question found in Parenting & Family In General |
Well, well, well! I wish more people asked this question. And to get a good answer we must ask the question to ourselves, 'what makes me angry?' The answer to this will lead to the answer to the first question, 'how to control anger?'
Usually we become angry at some one when they do not obey us or they iritate us. Then how can we help being angry? Well one way is to put ourselves in their position and see how it can be handled.
If we get angry with some one, accusing them and trying to correct them we may have negative results. It would be better to handle the person with tolerance and understanding and gently and lovingly discusss the issue.
LOVE IS THE REMEDY FOR MOST EVILS and the way to control anger is to practice selfless love.

In the crystal the molecules are losely bound. The water molecules hit the crystal at every point and set these molecules free. These molecules also move around and mix with the whole of the liquid giving the taste.

Why does hot water, when stirred, generates more steam ?
Discuss this question
| Question found in Physics |
According to the theory of Brownian motion molecules inside a liquid are in constant motion and they hit one another and cause random movements. Evaporation is the escape of molecules at the surface when they are hit by those molecules below hitting them at the proper angles.
The rate of the motion of these particles depend on their energy, which in turn depend on their temperature. In hot water they have more energy and move faster and hit one another with greater effect.
When you stir the process accelerates the rate of brownian motion and more molecules escape and hence it seems that it is generating steam.
