Is it normal to want to know both sides of an issue? I have seen a lot of news on the Iraqi war, Hezbollah and Al-Queda. They are different and not connected, right?

All of the news that I see is from a U.S-UK-Israeli point of view.

My news reports that the Al-Queda website said "..." and Rashaheen said "..." but I can't find where it says that anywhere. Does anyone know where a person would go to get the other side of the story?

What does Jesus mean by the term sacrificial love?

Discuss this question

Question found in Bible Studies
I cannot recollect a passage in the gospel where Jesus speaks of sacrificial love. I wish you had given the ref. But in general the love that Jesus always talks of and practiced is sacrificial love.
In the simplest way we can understand sacrificial love as selfless love. Not for our own pleasures but for the benefit of the one we love. A love where we are prepared to make small or large sacrifices for the sake of the one/ones we love. At another, higher level the love Jesus gave us was the sacrificial love in the sense that he offered himself as a sacrifice for us because of his love for us. This is sacrificial love.

Is there a God?

Discuss this question

Question found in Bible Studies
The only Absolute Reality, the Eternal Being or the True Existence in which the whole cosmos exists – in which the universe and we all were conceived – which was, is and always shall be there – that is God.
Yes God exists. He is real. He is ‘who is’.

The awareness of this Supreme Being was not something that someone recently discovered to fool the ignorant peoples around. This awareness was one of the earliest convictions of human beings, since the beginning of Homosapiens. This was the beginning or foundation of ‘knowledge’.

I would like an explantion of why the bible, any or all of its versions, in all of the stories fails to mention America, the continent, or how Natives were to hear the word of the Lord.

Discuss this question

Question found in Bible Studies
Bible was primarily the Holy Scripture of the Jewish people – Israel. The world of the Bible is limited therefore to West Asia and Egypt mostly. Only from the Acts of the Apostles we see Europe – Rome – coming. India, China or Australia are not mentioned even though St. Thomas, one of the disciples of Jesus went to India and preached the gospel there and started a ‘church’ there

What is the nearest thing we have come to in terms perpetual motion?

Discuss this question

Question found in Science In General
Everything in the universe is in perpetual motion. There is nothing that is ever at rest either in the macroscopic level of stars, galaxies and planets, in the microscopic level of protons and electrons. The house we live in seems to be at rest but that is moving with the rotation and revolution of the earth as well as with the movements of the sun and our galaxy.

What is the nature of politics?

Discuss this question

Question found in Psychology
A very interesting question indeed. Politics is the struggle of a group of people - called a political party - to capture the administration of a national or local government, and once in power to maintain that power at any cost. Usually the political parties are supposed to be following an ideal - socialist or capitalist or some other sort. But in todays world these ideals and ideas are just masks. The republicans and the democrats in US or the Congress and Communists in Kerala today are guided by only one ideal - the ideal of selfish gains. The communists of Bengal and Kerala today are more capitalistic than some capitalistic parties.
If what is said above is true for most democracies of today, in autocracies politics is the attempts to overthrow the autocrats, so that these groups can reap the benefits now enjoyed by the rulers. A very interesting field indeed.
