Why is ice cold?
Discuss this question
| Question found in Science In General |
Hot and cold are relative terms. Anything that is at a temperature lower than our body feels cold to us. Those below the atmospheric temperature feels very cold.
Our body temperature is 37 degree Celsius and water turns into ice only at 0 degree Celsius or below. So naturally ice feels rather cold.

What is absolute zero?
Discuss this question
| Question found in Physics |
Absolute zero is the lowest possible temperature. It is 273 degrees below zero on the Celsius scale. A new scale with this as zero is called the Kelvin scale. Each unit on that scale has the same value as on the Celsius. This 0 degree C is 273 K and 100 degree C is 373 K.
Scientists have not found an upper limit of temperature. It can go to millions of degree Celsius, but so far no one had been able to produce or record a temperature below 0 K. The lowest temperatures observed in outer space is just a little above the absolute zero.

carbon 6 electrons 2 + 4 So 4 electrons in the last of 2 shells so it is 4th in the second row.
Nitrogen 7 electrons 2 + 5. So 5th in 2nd row
Oxygen 8 electrons 2 + 6. So 6th in 2nd row
sodium 11 electrons 2 + 8 + 1 . So 1st in the 3rd row
Magnesium 12 electrons 2 + 8 + 2 So 2nd in third row
Chlorine 17 electrons 2 + 8 + 7 so 7th in the 3rd row
Potassium 19 electrons 2 + 8 + 8 + 1 so 1st in the 4th row
Calcium 20 electrons 2 + 8 + 8 + 2 so 2nd in the 4th row
Iron 26 electrons 2 + 8 + 8 + 8 = (6 + 2) Ferous state
Iron 26 2 + 8 + 8 + 8 = (5 + 3) ferric state both 8th in the 4th row

Is it the colour of the sky makes the ocean looks blue or is it that the colour of the ocean that makes the sky looks blue?
Discuss this question
| Question found in Space & Astronomy |
There is a theory - Raman effect that explains the colour of the sky. It is not caused by the sea.
The color of the sea also is not entirely duo the colour of the sky though it has some effect. Water is said to be colourless and transparent, but this is only when it is shallow. When it becomes deeper it takes the blue color. Water is not colorless in this sense.

Is God inside or outside the Universe?
Discuss this question
| Question found in Theology |
The concept of God is not easy to understand as He is infinite. ( Allow me to use the term ‘He’ though any other – She, It – could as well be used.) No one should say that this concept is right and that concept is wrong. God can be anything and everything, anywhere and everywhere.
Coming to your question; one can say that the universe is in God; but at the same time God is in the universe as well. The universe is extending to billions of light years on all sides of us. God is not far out there. He is right here. So He is inside as well as outside.
One can also say that God is inside me, in my heart. One can also say that I am inside God, in His heart.

What is the actual colour of the sky? Blue or black?
Discuss this question
| Question found in Space & Astronomy |
The term sky refers to the gaseous atmosphere surrounding the earth. This has a blue color as we look from here. What is pitch dark or black is the outer space, in the absence of atmosphere.
The blue color is caused by the interaction of sunlight with air and dust particles in the atmosphere.
