Discuss this question

Question found in Cricket
As Mr James Ellis, specified in his answer, the rules for such conditions are made locally. I can quote with a real life situation by telling you about the famous, St Lawrence Ground in Kent. The ground opened as the Beverley ground in 1847, and was built around a lime tree.

At this ground the rules were like this : Shots blocked by the tree were counted as a four.

Only four cricketers have cleared the tree to score a six: Arthur 'Jacko' Watson of Sussex in 1925, the West Indies' Learie Constantine (1928), Carl Hooper (1992) and Middlesex's Jim Smith (1939).

This 290 year old tree was was blown over during wild storms on 10 January 2005.

Pietermaritzburg cricket ground in South Africa is another cricket ground with a tree inside the boundary.
