What was the year John Denver died and how?

Discuss this question

Question found in Entertainment In General
John Denver, the American folk singer, songwriter and folk rock musician was born on December 31, 1943.

He was killed in an Aviation accident on October 12, 1997 when the Long-EZ aircraft he was piloting ran out of fuel just off the coast of California at Pacific Grove. The aircraft crashed into Monterey Bay, in California.

The Long EZ is a kit aircraft designed by Burt Rutan, one of the world's greatest aerospace designers. One of his Long EZ planes, similar to John Denver's, holds the altitude record for conventional aircraft and it's brilliant design is well respected in the aviation community.

Denver apparently lost control of the aircraft while attempting to manipulate the fuel selector handle. Denver had recently purchased the aircraft and had only had about a half-hour orientation flight the day before the accident. The NTSB cited Denver's unfamiliarity with the aircraft and his failure to have the aircraft refueled as causal factors in the accident. Denver was the sole occupant of the aircraft.

Question found in Animals & Nature
If you are asking whether a Trap-Door Snail is an hermaphrodite, then the answer is No. Even though most of the snails are hermaphrodites - i.e they are both male and female at the same time, so by which they don't need a partner to reproduce - some variety like apple snails, Trap-door snails etc are not members of this category. You will need both a male and a female specimen in your aquarium to breed trap-door snails.

What is the difference between rose and white Zinfandel wine?

Discuss this question

Question found in Wines Of The World
Zinfandel grape variety hails from California and they are renowned for their ability to make solid red wines which are spicy and peppery with a good fruity taste. Research has now shown that the zinfandel grape originated in Italy, but this wine is now primarily grown in California.

The Zinfandel are available in two varieties the Red and White. (You asked for the difference between Rose and White, but the White Zinfandel is a Rose or Blush wine).

Red Zinfandel is a wine which is deep red almost reaching black in color. Red Zinfandel is a spicy, peppery wine, with a hint of fruity flavor.

The White zinfandel wine is also made from the same zinfandel grape. To make white zinfandel, the winemaker removes the red skins before making the wine. The red skins are what give the robust flavor and color to red zinfandel wine. Without the skins, a white zinfandel ends up being light and sweet. White zinfandel is a pale-rose wine in color.

These day's the white Zinfandel's have fruit juices added to them right before bottling to create new flavored versions.
