"Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close" keeps popping up and closing Internet. How do I get rid of this?

Discuss this question

Question found in Internet In General
As our expert Mr Gary Sonnenberg stated, in order to give you specific details about the solution, we need a bit more specific information about the problem you are facing. Internet Explorer crashes out with the similar message, "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close", due to a lot of reasons, like misconfigurations, in situations were an upgrade is made from a beta version of Windows XP, in situations were an upgrade was made from an IE 6 Public Preview version, problems in Smart Tags, conflicts in 3rd party plugins like lack of user privileges etc.

But I can give you a generic solution. First of all you need to zoom in on the specific reason why your browser is crashing out. In order to do so, find the exact details about the error. The next time this message appears , press the "click here" link at the bottom of the message box and it will give you access to more information about the error. This is called an Error Signature and getting the Error Signature is the key to the solution.

Here is a sample Error signature:

AppName: iexplore.exe AppVer: 6.0.2900.2180 ModName: shdocvw.dll
ModVer: 6.0.2900.2518 Offset: 0001408d

In the above given signature check the "ModName:" part as it will give you an idea of the offending component which is causing the error, in the above example it is the 'shdocvw.dll'. Now armed with this information do a Google search with the error message ("Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close") and the name of the faulty component (here it will be "shdocvw.dll"). You will find detailed solutions from many websites by this method.

I am also listing links to some Knowledge Base articles from Microsoft.com and I think they will shed more light regarding the problem you have in hand.

Can a Bahamian citizen travel to England without a British visa?

Discuss this question

Question found in Tourism & Travel
If you are a national of Bahamas then you do not need a Visa to come to the UK as a tourist / visitor, as a student (less than 6 months), for a business visit or as a work permit holder of less than 6 months. All you have to do is to present an immigration officer at UK with valid documents to prove that you qualify for entry to the United Kingdom as a visitor or a man with business purpose under the Immigration Rules.

When you are allowed entry to the UK as a visitor then you won't be allowed to change your status to that of a student due to some changes in Immigration Rule (with effective from April 3 '06).

If you are a work permit holder for longer than 6 months or a student who wants to stay for longer than 6 months then you should get a valid visa before visiting the UK.

If you don't fall into any of the categories mentioned above then please check out the below given link to find if you need a Visa to Visit The UK.

What is the reproductive cycle of the earth worm?

Discuss this question

Question found in Animals & Nature
Earthworms are hermaphrodites (or monoecious) - as they have both female and male organs within the same individual. They have testes, seminal vesicles and male pores which produce, store and release the sperm, and ovaries and ovipores. But they lack the ability to fertilize their own eggs. So they should mate in order to reproduce and they will receive the sperm from other worms during copulation. Copulation and reproduction are separate processes in earthworms.

During The mating the worm pairs overlap front ends ventrally and each exchanges sperm with the other. Once they have mated, the girdle like ring around the front of an earthworm, called the clitellum slides along the worm's body, picking up fertilized eggs. This sac slips over the worm's head and finally falls off the worm into the soil. There it forms a cocoon or capsule which is a well protected nest for the egg and it incubates the eggs. It is in this cocoon that the embryonic worm develop. When they are ready to come out they have the shape of tiny worms and they crawl out through one end of the cocoon. On birth they resemble fully formed earthworms, except for lacking the sexual structures, which develop later.

Cocoons vary in size and shape and are about 1/25 to 1/3 inch long. Some fast-maturing worms mature three to four months after hatching and will start their breeding cycle.

What is a Doosra?

Discuss this question

Question found in Cricket
In Cricket a 'Doosra' is a surprise delivery bowled by an off-spinner (one who normally turns the ball towards the bat or stumps from the off side after pitching the ball.) which goes the wrong way, i.e towards the offside or away from the bat of a right handed batsman after pitching. It got it's name from the Urdu word 'doosra' which means "other", "second", "second one" etc in this context. It can be related to the surprise delivery that the leg-spinners (one who normally turns the ball away from the bat towards off side after pitching the ball on the onside.) have - it goes from offside to the legside - which
is called a 'Googly'. Anil Kumble and Shane Warne are masters of bowling Googly.

This kind of bowling technique is a relatively new kind of delivery in cricket and it was invented by the wily Pakistani off-spinner Saqlain Mushtaq during the 1990s. Until that time every off-spinners were making the ball to turn from the batsman's off-side towards leg and he redefined off-spin bowling by adding this deadly delivery into international cricket arena. Story goes that Pakistani wicket keeper Moin Khan was the first one to coin the term "doosra" with this deliver as he used to shout at Saqlain during many matches to bowl the "doosra".

After Saqlain's invention of this delivery many other off-spin bowlers started to master this technique, as this kind of a ball which goes away from the batsman really started to have an impact in many matches. Today bowlers like Harbhajan Singh of India, Muttiah Muralitharan of Srilanka, Shoaib Malik of Pakistan and Johan Botha of South Africa are using this delivery to great effect. To get the leg break effect it is bowled from the back of the hand with a lot of top spin, but the wrist still moves in a clockwise direction.

Another new delivery that the international cricket is waiting to see is the 'doosra' bowled by a left handed off-spinner where the ball would turn from offside to legside. Cricket world is watching English left-arm spinner Monty Panesar as he claims to have bowled these deliveries in domestic cricket and so every body believes that he will introduce this is delivery to international cricket.
