What do alligators eat?

Discuss this question

Question found in Animals & Nature
They hunt mostly in water and are opportunistic feeders resting peacefully on the bottom or floating calmly in the water column until an unsuspecting critter comes to close. Fish make up the majority of an alligator's diet but the adults eat almost anything that's within reach, including mammals, birds, and other reptiles. Small prey they snap up and swallow whole; larger animals are dragged underwater to be drowned, then torn into pieces and swallowed in chunks.

Can I report my neighbours to the council for flying a St Georges flag on a lamppost outside their house? and will it be removed?

Discuss this question

Question found in Legal Other
In USA
You can report anything that you wish to the council. Whether city council or neighborhood association, there are rules that are stated, some are assumed and rules are not mentioned because it does not exist. New laws can be adopted at anytime.
Things that will be considered may include harm such as safety, reduced values, public spectacle, vulgar, insightful, etc.
We are free as long as we commit no harm. The sense of harm may be felt more strongly in some than others. These standards are set by the council. This could go either way depending on perceived harm.
If it affects only you and you consider it an annoyance and nothing more threatening, the flag will be allowed to fly most probably.

I want to find my biological father, my parents weren't married and I don't know if he knows I exist. I don't know a lot about him other than his name and where he drank in 1986/7. Can you help?

Discuss this question

Question found in Parenting & Family In General
This is something that you can do by yourself or employ someone to do it for you. If you do it yourself, you may use websites like Reunion.com. But this is best for two techie who want to find each other.
If you want to find him and he doesn't have the means to find you, will save time and money hiring an investigator become your own investigator http://www.superdetective.net/?kbid=1005. Hiring is best after you do a little looking yourself so that you aren't paying for what you can find for just a couple dollars. But then hire someone when you have hit a wall.
They will talk to you for a while and will probably determine that you have more information than you think you do.
Make the detective tell you their methods along with their finding. This may be useful later. Document everything. Have fun during your search.
This gets lots easier if you mother helps so I hope that she is open to this. Mom may feel more abandoned by this man than you ever will.
Don't stop. Call Morry Povitch on TV. Call Springer. Call Opera. Find those with supper powers. Be the lead investigator in this mystery. If you run low on dollars on month, take the time to re sift through the old clues. Then when you get the money you have more powerful data behind you. Good luck and have fun.

Is greater social diversity increasing or decreasing individual ability to shape one’s own life?

Discuss this question

Question found in People & Relationships In General
First, most of the world is not socially diversified. They are homogeneous groups of people that are ancestors of the people who settled there long ago. These people live in a mostly homogeneous country and the affairs of that nation set the standard for the prosperity. This is changing now with flattening of the world. But not enough yet to have any history.
Second, money is what makes one able to shape ones life. So the question is this "are those of different social status' able to merge with those that are established?" The answer is "depends". Some groups are accepted and some are not. In the USA, it is better to be Asian than Mexican. Better in business to be familiar with sports. It is better to be Christian. In other words, it is better to be like the norm. Whitish, Protestant, Male.
In the USA and Europe, diversity is appreciated but not really used to any advantage. The rest of the world does not appreciate diversity. It is not taboo to request certain types of people for certain jobs. American companies pay by the local customs in these countries rather than spread diversity.
So, how do you get the power to change your life? Money. How do you get money in a mixed society? Become like the majority. Integrate by blending in.
I heard it put best this way. "United we fall but divided we stand" This talks about the value of diversity. This goes against the USA creed and mindset of the majority.

mom that cares

my son of 34yrs has been on meth for 4 yrs. Is it possible for me to help him as he does not want counseling?

thanks

Sharon

Discuss this question

Question found in Parenting & Family In General
Meth is one of the most addictive drugs on the market. Because the chemical components cause such a strong reaction in the brain, there is little chance that you will be able to help. Habitual users of Meth enjoy a couple of very powerful sensations. One is an alertness that make the user feel much smarter/stronger than ever before and the other one is confidence.
Understand that meth effects the body and mind for about 12 hours but users enjoy other effects when they use every 6 to 8 hours. It is possible to go for days without sleep. The lack of sleep causes crazy hallucinations and later, panic. The mind simply isn't able to be awake that long. Users who get to this point usually find help at an emergency room. And this is the best way to get someone into a program.
Unfortunately, people who support users are offering the cruelest comfort. Only after every opportunity is lost and after 10 days sober will treatments centers help. Even after treatment, this is a lifelong disease. Lifelong.
There are people who have kicked it by themselves but it was only after, their connection dissolved, the money ran out, or jailed.
There are some signs that a person is not ready to give up this euphoria. They won't earnestly find help and rely on it.
They won't give up their friends.
They admit to others that they are an addict.

Is your son high? Police find that users that are trust before authority speak with one or both hands over their head.
Has he been using for a while? Does he have his teeth or are they dissolving.
Is he dangerous? If you have power over him, he is dangerous.
Power = "my power over you is your dependency upon me"

It is possible to get counseling for him if he commits a crime. This sounds hard but jail or prison with counseling will provide a richer life than what he has now.

I heard an old addict tell me this. The greatest high is living life at its own pace.

When you go for treatment, you will also get counseling. It will be exactly as I just stated.

How do you love someone that breaks your heart?

Discuss this question

Question found in Teenage Relationships
It was said that love is a profound want.
This could be that a person wants another to be part of their life, it could be that a person wants a person to become a better person, it could be that a person wants to feel the power of love and so is in love.
A person can break your heart as you say and be exactly the person that they are. And that person can be lovable.
A problem that is dangerous comes when you love a person who does not like you and you don't disengage. If love is a profound want, it is only healthy when that want is mutual. To love someone who makes mistakes, is human and so are they. But they need to care for you to be worthy of your love.
Sometimes we get confused. Our want for something to work out is mixed into our want for a continued connection to that person.
There is a difference between normal and healthy. It is normal to still love someone who harms you once. Your hoping for a change of will, regret, apology, reunion and understanding. And that may happen. But it is unhealthy to live in that moment after the moment has passed.
