Do people that were born blind, or became blind before the age of 3, on average show less racism, than those that are sighted?

Discuss this question

Question found in People & Relationships In General
So racism is about seeing a different feature on a different type of person.
So, then genocide in Africa is a black/white issue to you.
The Nazi's and Jews were really that physically different you think.
The Irish who were forced into slavery in New York looked entirely different than New Yorkers.
Racism is sick! It is not based on what is visibly different but what is assumed to be different. What is expected to be different and what is unknown.
You need to find out what racism really is. Your questions show that you don't know the least about it.
If your really interested in it. Buy a book. I would suggest the Butter Battle book by Dr. Suess.

Are there any animals that show behavior similar to racism?

Discuss this question

Question found in Animals & Nature
Racism is a prejudice based on race for no other reason but race.
You will find that one monkey dislikes another monkey but it is for reason of territory.
A few wasps will kill a whole bee hive in 3 hours. The are incensed by the honey not violence satisfying an urge of hatred.
Hyenas and Lions kill each other but will not eat the dead body. They are not in a blood war. They are working to reduce those who would kill their babies and their food.
It is our intellect that should prevent us from acting like the animals but man's desire to have everything spoils the gift of reason.

Comments :
Thank you. Although I don't believe this is a full answer. Other animals rape and pillage for the sake of raping and pillaging.

Racism is a hatred based on differences in appearence and culture. Dogs for example will treat the runt of the litter poorly just for being the runt.

I would like an explantion of why the bible, any or all of its versions, in all of the stories fails to mention America, the continent, or how Natives were to hear the word of the Lord.

Discuss this question

Question found in Bible Studies
Not all versions of the Bible miss this point, Christianity in the form of the Church of LDS includes a whole story of this in their companion book, The book of Mormon.
As for the regular Bible, there is much that is missing. Dinosaurs, petroleum, nukes, UFOs, etc.
The question is this, what is relevant?
What stories can one pass to the next generation so that they will be obedient people?
The stories will be about great men and great women. Poems of God. Predictions of hope for their people. At no time is America, the great hope of a homeland for Israel.
Today we can build a story around a thing and people are happy. We believe in things more than we believe in great people.
We like action movies but ideas are better. They last longer. They inspire.
The Bible does not talk about Spain, or Madagascar or Japan. It talks about the nation of Israel. See the book of Mormon for American history, Shintoism for Japanese history, see paganism for Spanish history prior to them adopting the Judea Christian history.

Is it still true that German autobahns do not have speed limits?

Any other Countries with areas/roads that this fact applies too?

Discuss this question

Question found in Automobiles In General
Despite the widespread belief of complete freedom from speed limits (and a lobbying effort that has the same influence and deep pockets as the American gun lobby), some speed regulations can be found on the Autobahns. Many sections do indeed have posted limits ranging from 80 to 120 km/h (50-75 mph), particularly those with dangerous curves, in urban areas, near major interchanges, or with unusually constant heavy traffic. In construction zones, the limit may be as low as 60 km/h (37 mph). Also, some sections now feature nighttime and wet-weather speed restrictions, and trucks are always regulated (see table below). Still, about half the Autobahn system has no speed limit, but there is always an advisory limit of 130 km/h (81 mph). This recommendation is generally seen for what it is-- an attempt by the government to cover itself without having to upset millions of Porsche and BMW owners (AKA voters.) However, if you exceed the advisory limit and are involved in an accident, you could be responsible for some of the damage costs even if you are not at fault.

You must read the rest of this... very interesting...

In what year was use of the cane abolished in British Schools?

Discuss this question

Question found in Education In General
The cane was finally abolished in state schools in 1987 after a long campaign by pressure groups such as S.T.O.P.P. (The Society of Teachers Opposed to Physical Punishment). At that time a good number of schoolteachers wished to retain corporal punishment as an ultimate sanction, but it would be difficult to find a majority in favour now. There are occasional calls from MPs for the reintroduction of the cane, but this eventuality is about as likely as the re-establishment of the death penalty in Britain - although a preponderance of public opinion would undoubtedly be in favour of both measures.

Does eating red meat have any benefits to the human body......would it be unwise to eat red meat dishes more than say four times a week?

Discuss this question

Question found in Food And Drink In General
Does a person need meat to live?
Clearly, the answer is "no".
There are a billion people on this earth who eat no meat whatsoever.
Generation upon generation have been raised without meat.

If your religion allows it, if you are in good heath, if you like the taste, if you are not conflicted by the methods of meat production, if you feel no moral dilemma, if you are not concerned about food poisoning, it should be alright for you.

But don't think that you will suffer poor health from not eating meat. That is silly. History and science show there is more harm than benefit.
