Can anyone tell me how I can drink 8-10 pints of lager without being sick! I have always enjoyed my drinking but over the last 6 months or so I have had real difficulty in keeping up with others due to being sick. I use to be the drinker of the group and I am confused why this has started to happen, I am only 23?

To science, alcohol is considered a semi-poison. It sounds like your body is treating it as a toxin and is trying to rid itself of it.
You might have also developed an allergy to either the alcohol or the stuff in the beer (not that uncommon).
It does not make you less of a man in not being able to drink at the same rate as your friends, only more sober. Being sober can be fun too, especially when you can consistently beat them at the bar games and laugh at their idiocy while drunk.
If you want to help isolate whether you are allergic, try different drinks on different nights. Such as wine, whiskey etc. - and stay on only one type of drink per night. If you fair better on one drink, stay with that one. If every drink type does the same and you end up sick, sorry mate but time to quit drinkin'. In the long run, it is healthier for you anyways.
Cheers!

I am looking for a bug repellent that works! It also has to be safe for my 2 dogs who spend time both inside the house and in the backyard. I live in Arizona, so this has to repel centipedes, scorpions, silverfish and all varieties of roaches and beetles. Does anyone have a suggestion for a repellent I can use?

Boric acid is a good one to start with. It is pretty safe when used as directed and cheap, which is always good.
If that does not work for you, try some of the environmental products that use citrus oils. These smell good, they are harmless to humans, pets and wildlife, but they work pretty well on just about anything with an exoskeleton.
There are a lot of toxins that work well as pesticides but create pollution/toxin issues when used in the environment. Your local garden center might be a good place to check out what is available, effective and safe.
Good luck with the bug fight, it can be a challenge.

It sounds like it might be time for an intervention. An intervention is one of the first steps in getting someone like this help.
It is simple enough. Get the family together (without him at first) and discuss the issue, your concerns and fears. Everyone in the family and his close friends too, goes as a group to the person (preferably while he is sober or somewhat coherent) and lets him know that you all feel he has a problem, that you all love him and you all want what is best for all involved.
The main purpose is getting him into a rehab center on his own but with lots of family and friend peer pressure to get him there. Friends will often times have more impact than family, after all, you can pick your friends but not your family.
He has to want it to work for it to work. He will likely fall off the wagon a time or two (or twenty) but it is important to let him know how much you care for him and how much you would miss him if he were gone.
Good luck and may this end well!
Talk to someone at alcoholics anonymous before the intervention. They can help pave the way.

Please help us! We (two teenagers) live in an extremely monotonous small town and really don't know what to do with our free time. Please give us some ideas what can we do to feel more useful. I don't mean things like "read books","do some sport"...I like something new, activity that is going to occupate us at all and will develop our intelligence and creativity. Maybe from the Internet. Thanks.

I would suggest photography.
Learning about light's interaction with the subject will push both your creative and intellectual sides. You have the purely technical aspects such as F-stops, shutter speeds, film speeds and focal distances, etc. You also have the creative side of taking the technical understanding and pushing those limits to new creative levels. The major plus to this endeavor is seeing your "monotonous small town" in a new light. You can find art in the most mundane object or situation. People love good photography and if you get good enough you might even make a career out of it. Plus photos make great and cheap gifts at birthdays and Christmas!

I have a Nikon d5o. And was so happy with the results that I purchased a Nikon d70s. AS far as I as aware it would take exactly the pictures, but gave me more camera facilities and options. It would also allow me the facility of not having to change lenses all the time. However, I have noticed when taking exactly the same shot with the same lens, with the same settings, I do not get the same results. I have talked to the shop and they start talking about algorithms or something like that. The d70s does not capture a true representation as the d50. The white balance is not the same neither are the colours. Does anyone have any ideas, I`m really confused. Thanks for any help.

This could be any number of things. The primary one is probably your white balance settings. Get a medium grey card and follow the instructions in the book for setting the white balance using the grey card. If the book does not help, get a copy of the Magic Lantern Guide to you camera. This will help in itself as these guides cover a lot of which is not covered in the manual.
If the picture differences are while using the flash, then the flash might not be refreshing fast enough for the shutter speeds. Get a speedlight flash that syncs well with the camera.
Keep in mind that even with the factory attempts to correct and adjust the camera, each light detector is a little different in how it reacts to light. You may never get exactly what you want due to the autolight meter settings that drive the camera. If you have the time and money, try a manual light meter and learn to use it. It can help you dramatically improve your knowledge of light, angles and camera settings.
Good luck and I hope this helps!

Why are people racist in the southern states of the US?

| Question found in Cultures In General |
 |
There is not a whole lot that I can add that the others have not already broached.
The history of the South involves the Blacks being brought from Africa to the New World to work as slaves. Because of the primitive cultures that many slaves came from, many of the whites in the South came to the *fallacious* conclusion that they must be inferior to the cultured and "upper-class" Whites. Some if not many actually felt that they were doing the slaves a favor by getting them out of the jungle. There are letters to this effect in some historical libraries. When the North decided to punish the South by taking the slaves away (look this up before you jump to the death threats) the economy collapsed (the reason the North did so). The South needed the slaves much more than the slaves needed the South!
Many decades of self brain-washing, media and cultural support of stereotypes, and resentment has left the South wounded regarding of Blacks (and many other minorities) as fellow humans of equal stature. The Deep South is the slowest to recover but the principle cities are not as overtly racist and much more cosmopolitan.
Like many cultures (I.E. the UK, Australia, Japan, Korea etc) there is much "Us against Them". This is apparent in many tribal settings (inclusive of the Middle East). As the others have stated, racism is prevalent everywhere in all cross-sections of society. Whites against all minorities is the most commonly exposed problem. But, there are Blacks vs Whites, Koreans vs Blacks, Blacks vs Hispanics, Hispanics vs Blacks, Hispanics vs Whites. Any group can be racist against another and usually examples are not very difficult to find. (I will probably irk many of you with this next statement...) Just about everyone is a little bit racist. Follow your thoughts for a day and you might be surprised.
What areas are you most afraid to go to after dark? Why
Find our common ground and realize that everyone is human and deserving of respect! You might not understand the culture, but accept and learn. You would be surprised what friends you earn and what you learn!

Miss Natalie, I can certainly reiterate what the others have already said.
I add this:
OK, here is the deal, if you really, really think you are ready (long before the sex takes place) do this. (The sex is the easy part - the really, really hard stuff happens after that).
Get the most shrill alarm clock you can buy. Set it to go off every two hours every night and day. Randomly fix the alarm clock so it will not shut off the entire night (or day) for 1, 2 or even 3 days (if a child is sick - as often occurs - they will keep you up for days without much of a break). Give most of your money away that would go to nappies, food, medicines, powders, wipes, clothes. Occasionally travel to the emergency room or urgent care place and wait 5-18 hours to actually see someone while holding the alarm clock (that you can't shut off) screaming at you the entire time. If you throw away, break or damage the alarm clock you go to jail and have the alarm clock taken from you forever. Do this for 2 years. Only after you have survived this (and more), then you can consider the question again. Oh yeah, you have to stay in school (what your work is for the moment) and you have to maintain decent marks. If you are working a real job and you do inferior work, you lose the job then no money to pay for baby. While at work, you need to pay for a sitter or daycare. See more below
This is a partial list of what you can expect as a mother. This is essentially just the negative bits because If I offer a positive (there are many) , you will likely focus on that and ignore the rest.
If you do get pregnant, please remember this:
A child is not a fluffy puppy that can be left to its own devices and expected to use the papers in the corner.
A child is a LIFETIME (yours) event.
I am 41 years old and I have a 3 year old and a 4 year old I am just now able to sleep through the night. (In the early days you must get up every 2 hours to feed, burp and change the baby.) I can't legally or ethically leave them in the house or front yard unattended. I waited until later - on purpose- to have children and they can still be "too much" now.
You are not making a plaything , you are making another human.
Children can get very sick very quickly. They can't tell you what is wrong with them. Everything you do for your self, you also have to do for them and they must ALWAYS come first in what ever plans you make.
Disposable nappies/diapers are very expensive and you go through 1, 2 or 3 every half hour or so. Sometimes right after they go and you change them, they go again right away. If you don't keep their very sensitive bottom dry and CLEAN they can develop rashes or worse, infections that might take weeks to clear.
You can't just give them away (like a pet) when you tire of them. They will drive you absolutely crazy at times and you can't just walk away to get a break from them (unless someone is there).
After the constant care in just life support, they become suicidal toddlers. I don't mean they want to kill themselves but their curiosity drives them towards the most dangerous items in the house, garden etc. They will break away from you and run into the street. They will fall off the sofa, bed, table, bookshelves or anything else they can climb.
You might want to find a few mothers about 19 or 20 that had a baby when they were 13/14 and ask them to tell you of their experiences. You might want to make a mental note of what type of job they hold, where they live, conditions of how they live and rather or not the father is still around to help take care of the child (or how long he stayed before the child "got on the way" of his life).
Simply put, as much as you think you want pregnancy and motherhood now, you will be much happier if you wait until you have an established life to bring the baby into. It is not just about you.

How much money do you make as an actor on Broadway?
|
|
Discuss this question

| Question found in Entertainment In General |

|
It really depends on your level of fame and contract. The median pay scale for your run-of-the-mill actor is about $25000 per year. The scale increases by the level of production and budget. This can vary by your resume' of course. If you were in the cast of a successful run that ran its course or hit the road, you can probably work a little more money out of the contract. Of course the better you do, you get an agent to do a lot of the footwork and contract negotiations. The agent gets 10+% of your gross. The idea is the more he gets work lined up for you, the more he gets. Problems can occur when the agent gets too many clients to focus on one particular client. Or if he likes one client over another, he might position his favorite actor towards the role instead of you.

More notably from Black Sabbath but also from The Ozzy Osbourne Band which started out as The Blizzard of Ozz after a run in with and firing from the Black Sabbath band in 1979.
After much ups and downs with legal battles, addictions etc, he reunited with Black Sabbath in 1997.
