Good day fellows!

I am engaged in moral philosophy and studies it as an autodidact introduced to me as my university undergrad. minor, for quite some time and fortunately and successfully I have recently made and submitted a paperwork concerning my view of meta- ethics, and normative ethics, the problem is how I would represent my self to the society of scholars, can entitle myself, because of the thought I am engage unto, a moral philosopher? I would not like to use that tile just for the sake of having one, but simply because it is both an acknowledgement of me for myself and those who would read my work for it would come to the point that if do not represent myself as such there is none to listen to my thoughts for certainly you would not go to a doctor who does not recognize himself as such however with the responses of those I have discussed with before, I always get broke by their statements that there is no such thing such as an independent scholar It seems that even my own recognition for this passion is useless and means nothing but simply a title and with that it appears to me that my knowledge of this field is not counted because of this view. So again, I am to seek your advises whether I can use this title to represent myself and as well have my argument be viewed and evaluated not dismissed, if you would hear somebody with such title .So please post your helpful replies about what you think of my question! I know that some of these days I am to use what I have asked in this forum. Thank you very much for you help in answering my predicament.

In order to use the title "scholar", it is not enough to have studied. The results of these studies need to be acknowledged by another party, preferably with credentials.

You won't get far as an "independent". You at least need a piece of paper saying you have successfully completed a course of study somewhere.

Of course, in philosophy, if you have something important to say, self-promotion could bring success. Write a book. Tough subject, philosophy, but popularization is possible, You'd probably feel like a whore, but that's the choice.

I can see your dilemma. If you're paper is well written you should send it to all the philosophers you can root out. I assume you do not intend to make a living from this...

How can I install fedora 17 without removing my current operating system windows xp?

Discuss this question

Question found in Operating Systems
Many unix implementations have downloadable ".iso" files that containt the entire operating system.

You download one of these, write it to a CD, then boot to it.

Many give you the option of creating a separate parttiion for the unix install, and have a logon script that allows you to choose which OS to run.

Why is there a ip on LAN minecraft servers if only people connected to ur Internet can join?

Discuss this question

Question found in Computers In General
What is "ur Internet"?

You don't have your own internet. If you mean your home network, each device has it's own ip address, else the wireless (or wired) controller won't know which Internet responses go to which device!

The outside world never sees these internal addresses, they only see your cable modem's Ip address, for instance.

Because the cash quickly ends up as cash reserves at the bank. The bank may then deposit these reserves at the Fed and earn interest on them. They're certainly not lending much out. But if they start lending, the Fed has to be careful how quickly this money makes it into circulation. When it get into circulation it will probably cause inflation, unless the economy is actually growing to absorb the cash.

Why is the cost of debt always calculated post tax?

Discuss this question

Question found in Business & Economy In General
Because the interest you pay on the debt is an expense that reduces your taxes. This reduction in taxes offsets some of the interest expense, all because of the debt.

Sometimes I get a message on my loptop saying. Your system is low on memory. Windows is increasing the size of your virual memory paging file. What does this mean? I was told I could buy extra memory and install it in my laptop, how does that work? Thanks Sammy.

This means there is not enough memory (RAM) for your computer to keep all of the programs that you are running stored there. Blocks of memory are freed up for programs that need them, and background applications [those not in use, for example, minimized on your desktop] are temporarily stored on the hard disk until those portions of programs or data are called for by the system [in other words, you make them active by clicking on them]. Then the computer reloads the stuff from hard disk into RAM to run the program.

If you are not having performance problems (like long waits for response], don't worry about it. But, if you do a lot of switching between programs, that process could be sped up by adding RAM - the computer would not have to shuffle stuff back and forth constantly from the hard disk to RAM where the CPU can work on it when you switch programs.
