hello
 |
I believe that when I sleep I'm in a totally different world. I like to have fun in my dreams and do extraordinary things. How do I choose what I want my dream to be about? Also how do I control myself fully in dreamland? Please don't think this is a stupid question I just was wondering. I need an answer as fast as possible.

What you describe (want) is often called lucid dreaming. I am able to control my dreams to some degree, so I understand what you might wish to do.
You can start here for some basic understanding. The home page may also point you to some texts on the subject.
As with hypnosis and other topics subject to as much conjecture as science, take it all with a grain of salt. If it works for you, go for it.

How do I clear an airlock in my water taps?
|
|
Discuss this question
|
| Question found in DIY |
 |
Shut off the water supply, open the hot and cold taps at the lowest point in the home and the highest point in the home. When gravity has drained the pipes, close the taps and turn the water supply back on. Open taps beginning at the low point (they will burp and sputter) until the water flows freely from each set and progress to the high point until all are running freely.
There are other solutions that require forcing water into the tap(s) from an external source (outside garden hose), etc., but they require adapters. Simply draining and refilling the pipes will usually clear an airlock unless the plumbing in the home is extremely complex.

You need a family law attorney NOW! If you simply split to the mountains, you could be financially liable for anything he does while you're still married.
If you're in the U.S., you are probably entitled to half of the marital property (anything acquired subsequent to marriage regardless of who earned the money to pay for it) and you definitely need to escape the abuse.
Speak with an attorney ASAP.
Just don't let the attorneys create so much argument that their fees increase or they will install swimming pools and you won't have enough left to build that mountain shack.

I am over 18 yrs old, is it legal to view porn sites on my laptop?

You aren't going to like my answer. Sorry.
It depends on the laws in your area and the internet service agreement.
You are old enough in most jurisdictions, but some may require 21.
Some areas will subject pornographic material to "community standards". While these laws are intended to control 'adult book stores', they could be applied to any porn. These laws tend to be unenforceable unless the prosecutor is prepared to march every resident of the community through court to testify and establish those "community standards". That won't make defending yourself in court any cheaper, though.
If you're in the U.S. (you didn't say), you're probably legally safer than in other countries, but even some U.S. laws can be oppressive. If a minor happens to see porn on your screen, you will have no defense because you are responsible for exposing them to it.
The internet service agreement can include a clause that could make accessing what they consider to be objectionable material a violation of the service agreement. This is unusual, but some providers do just that.
Obviously, any pornographic material that involves minors (under 18) will subject you to child pornography laws. These are extremely harsh and rightfully so. Unfortunately, you may end up with images such as these on your hard drive when you did not want them. Their mere presence (even deletion does not remove them) will be a prima facie case against you and you will have little defense.
Be advised that your laptop stores information regarding your surfing activities. Often in places you may not be able to locate and remove. Even formatting a disk does not completely remove its contents. If it's found on your disk, you own it and can be prosecuted for it.
I have a former co-worker whose live-in girlfriend downloaded a bunch of kiddie porn to his computer, left him and then tipped the police. He objected that it wasn't his doing. He lost in court, spent a year in prison, is on probation for five years, cannot live within 1,000 feet of a school, park or any other place children are known or expected to gather, he is ineligible for many types of employment, etc., etc., etc.
Weigh the risks and the benefits of surfing porn and choose wisely.

When a relative took in a death certificate and tried to get a house and 38 acres that was to be left to them upon death of the owner (the property was left to the person that went to the recorders office} there is no mortgages on the property, the recorder told them. This has to go through probate because you inherited the land not the house. How can that be?

Probate (court supervision) is required to make certain that there are no other claims to the property and to verify the rightful claim. Some claims may not be obvious. These can include taxes, easements, rights-of-way, covenants, other potential heirs, etc.
Many think of inheriting the house, but it is the real estate that counts.

I have a 2003 ford explorer sport 4x4. It recently started to make a humming noise(like a jet engine warming up) that increases with acceleration. It is an automatic and shifts effortlessly through the gears while driving. I noticed that while driving at highway speeds if I turned the wheel to the right that the noise subsided but returned upon straightening out the wheel. Any ideas on what could be causing this?

A bad wheel bearing seems most likely. Probably the left front wheel.
If the noise abates when turning the steering wheel to the right, weight is shifted to the left wheels. The additional load helps silence the bearing.
In any event, have them both checked. Soon. A sudden failure on the highway could be catastrophic. Most folks cannot drive at highway speeds on three wheels.

Can a owner of a night club just ban you from the club because he says someone told him I sell drugs, isnt that slander or something?
|
|
Discuss this question
|
| Question found in Legal Other |
 |
The owner of a night club can ban anyone for any reason or no reason at all. This is no different than telling someone they aren't welcome in your home. You don't have to give them a reason.
If he can identify the person who made the accusation, you may have a cause of action against them for defamation or similar.

I paid first and last month rent before moving in to my apartment. I never signed a lease and informed my landlord that I was trying to move to graduate housing in a few months because of the difference in rent. I was unsure if this was going to be available and paid the last month's rent. My landlord informed me that she was leaving the country for awhile. Two days later I found out that I could move and called my landlord's cell phone to inform her of this and to talk to her about the double paid last month's rent. I left a message on her voicemail. After finding out the trip was an entire month, I asked her daughter in law to give her the message. After not hearing back from her, I called my landlord and she's not giving me back the money. Am I legally entitled to it under CA law?

Your description did not include early departure penalty or damages, so you should get a refund.
If she will not refund within a reasonable time (30 days) following receipt of a written demand (certified mail, return receipt), file a claim in conciliation court. If you prevail, she must pay the claim plus your filing fees.
When you get to court, KEEP IT SHORT AND FACTUAL. Best if you make some notes concerning conversations and events in chronological order and stick to them. No rambling stories. From your description here, you should be able to present your entire case in one minute or so. Keep it simple and factual.
When it's her turn to speak, KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT! Do not roll your eyes, interrupt, fidget or make any extraneous moves. The judge has already heard your side. You will be allowed to rebut her testimony, but do NOT repeat something you've already said. Credibility is everything. Appear credible, confine your comments to facts and you should prevail.
