What do you do when you love two people?

Discuss this question

Question found in People & Relationships In General
The simplest answer is "choose".

Not easy, I understand. However, three-way love affairs seldom work.

Can a car garage withdraw a car from sale after I have signed paperwork and paid a deposit?

Discuss this question

Question found in Automobiles In General
Not without very good reason.

Assuming the paperwork you signed was a purchase agreement and it was accepted by the seller, both parties are bound to complete the transaction unless extraordinary circumstances prevent.

It sounds as if they got a better offer and are simply trying to reneg, but I cannot know for certain.

In south Dakota, a shared business with two names on all, other person took partners name off without permission. Is that legal?

Discuss this question

Question found in Banking & Finance
It depends on the business filing with the state.

If both names were on that, one cannot be removed without notarized authority or a death certificate and probate orders.

If one was the registered owner and the other was taken on as an unnamed "partner", possibly, but private agreements (including oral) can be binding. Especially if the partner removed has financial records to prove investment and involvement as a principle.

Can someone please explain how a proprietorship or partnership gets its capital?

Discuss this question

Question found in Business & Economy In General
Most often, from the proprietor or partner(s).

Capital contribution is probably one of the primary considerations in granting partnership status.

Otherwise, loans are very common. Frequently, the principles will borrow against personal assets.

Occasionally, individual or corporate investors will contribute capital. These could be loans to the business or venture capital in exchange for partnership status. The partnership can be general (having a say in business affairs) or silent (capital contribution with no business authority).

Smelly sewer in basement?

Discuss this question

Question found in Plumbing
There should be traps in all of your drains to prevent sewer gases from entering the house.

You might have a dry trap, especially if you never run water in that drain.

Try pouring a bucket of water in each drain, including the floor drain. The odor should dissipate within a short time.

If that doesn't resolve it, you might need a plumber.

Why is my wee dark yellow and smells strong?

Discuss this question

Question found in Personal Health Issues
There are medical conditions that will cause this, some more serious than others.

Try drinking eight glasses of water tomorrow (coffee and other beverages don't count) and see if it clears up. It is possible that you are slightly dehydrated. If it doesn't clear up or your start having any other symptoms, see a doctor. Soon.

Why do we pass wind?

Discuss this question

Question found in Health & Fitness In General
The quick answer is "because it's painful not to".

Normal intestinal flora (bacteria) help us to digest what we eat.

Depending upon the food, these bacteria can generate gas (often methane, sometimes hydrogen sulfide) as a by-product of their endeavors. This can be expelled as "passing wind". Most, however, is re-absorbed through the intestinal wall.

Some foods cause these bacteria to generate more gas than others. Cruciferous vegetables (broccoli, cabbage) and legumes (soy, beans) are more likely to cause methane. Eggs can result in hydrogen sulfide.

An evening in the local pub eating beans and hard-boiled eggs and drinking beer can result in a bacterial celebration that ends up with you as a social outcast the morning after.

There are enzyme food additives (Bean-O) that can reduce or eliminate the gas generation. But they can take all the fun out of an otherwise great poker party.

I have a 1999 Chevy Tahoe, the passenger floor gets real hot after driving 500 miles or more. What could be causing this to happen and what do I do about it?

Discuss this question

Question found in Auto Diagnostics
It sounds as if your catalytic converter is overheating.

If so, you are at serious risk of a vehicle fire.

It may be clogged. Make certain you're looking at the catalytic converter when you do this and not the muffler.

When the engine is cold, reach under the truck and beat up on the bottom of it with the side of your fist. If you hear shifting of the contents, it is probably shot and needs replacement.

How do you replace a fuel pump on a 1997 Dodge Intrepid?

Discuss this question

Question found in Auto Repair
I can't find a service manual for this vehicle, but the appearance of the fuel pump suggests that it sits in a hole in top of the tank.

This probably means that the tank must be drained and dropped to change out the fuel pump.

You can follow the fuel line and may find the pump accessible without removing the tank. If so, allow that you will probably need several inches of clearance above the fuel pump to lift it out and drop in the replacement.
