Question found in Automobiles In General
Contact a dealer of that vehicle or the manufacturer.

You will probably have to prove ownership by title, etc.

I took out 10K loan for ex partner. The cheque raised paid for a car registered in his name. He has paid £300 in 18th months. Have I any legal recourse?

Discuss this question

Question found in Legal Other
Yes, but not related to the car unless you are listed as a secured party.

If you gave a loan, you can sue to recover if the borrower will not repay.

This may be a bit brutal, but I believe that you need it.

Your "relationship" is no more solid than the electrons used to conduct it.

You have no idea who this person really may be, what they are really like or what their true motives may be. You only have some electronic conversations.

You may have been corresponding with someone who is actually as he purports himself you be.

Equally, you may have been corresponding with a 14-year old boy who lives on the next block and thinks this sort of thing is funny and he has been sharing your correspondence with all of his buddies for a good laugh.

Before you share your heart, find out with whom you are really dealing. Something other than than his word for it.

I am three months pregnant and have taken a fancy to peanuts. I believe that you should eat nuts while pregnant. Is this true? and if so is there any nuts that are OK to eat?.

Thank you,

Theresa.

Question found in Food And Drink In General
Let your body be your guide.

Food allergies and other factors absent, if you crave something it is likely that you need something it contains.

Do not engorge yourself on peanuts, but find out if moderate intake will quell the cravings. We often have a "taste" for that which we need.

Is distillated water good for you?

Discuss this question

Question found in Biology
Distilled water is nearly pure.

Good for you? You need water to live. Distilled water will serve this purpose quite well. It might taste a little bland if you're accustomed to water containing minerals.

My daughter wants to know if it is possible to make a hover-board for a science fair, even a mini scale?

Discuss this question

Question found in Inventions
Not exactly, but close. Depending on her age and the age of the others nearby, this is potentially dangerous.

You will need a rare-earth magnet, a super-conducting ceramic disk and some liquid nitrogen.

You place the disk in a petri dish and pour in enough liquid nitrogen to almost cover the disk. With your fingertips, you lower the rare earth magnet towards the disk until it floats in midair.

My engineering lab did this demonstration in high schools at one time. We had to be VERY careful, however, because liquid nitrogen can instantly cause a cryogenic "burn". Kids, even older kids, can be unpredictable. There's always one smartass. One splash, and someone could be blinded for life. You can't get it out fast enough. It's the temperature. At -321F, it's no toy.

Possible dependence and/or increased tolerance.

Depending upon the medication, some can be extremely habit-forming.

That is a polite expression for "you could become a sleeping pill junkie".

The sheriff brought a subpoena to my house for my 16 yrs old son to testify against his mother (for the state) on domestic violence charges. The subpoena was not directly handed to him nor either parent,,,,,,,,,,,,,does he have to testify?........He does not even want to go to court nor does his father because the issue was pushed by an officer and could have been settled without complaints. Neither were personally served do they have to show up?

Discuss this question

Question found in Legal Other
If the subpoena was delivered to the child's home, it will most likely be upheld by the court as properly served.

In most states, domestic abuse is not a case filed on complaint by an injured party. The prosecutor can file charges on probable cause. It is the State's Case, not the father's.

I would recommend that you, the child and the child's father consult a criminal attorney. An hour of their time could save you all a lot of grief and confusion.

Does someone have to show up for court if a subpoena is not served personally to them by a sheriff?

Discuss this question

Question found in Legal Other
In most U.S. jurisdictions, the person serving a subpoena is not an issue provided that it was properly served. That is, the party served was identified "Are you John Smith?" and the documents were extended to John Smith.

In relatively minor cases, service by First Class Mail with an affidavit of mailing is adequate.

Rule of thumb: If you are named on a subpoena, ignore it at peril of arrest, jail and fines for contempt.

There is no percentage in attempting to make a case out of service unless there is a huge reason. If so, you need an attorney, not a general answer from an international web site.

If you simply have a conflict that substantially interferes with appearance (in hospital, not merely inconvenient) contact the serving party and/or the court and beg forbearance.
