How many times can the letter a be stored on a floppy disk?
Discuss this question
| Question found in Hardware |
If you are asking about a 3 1/2 inch floppy with 1.44 megabytes of storage then the answer is about 1,440,000 letters. That cannot be taken as an exact answer since the disk needs to use some of that space for other purposes such has keeping track of file names. Generally speaking, one letter will use one byte of storage. Also, if you were to compress (zip) the file containing the letters, you would be able to fit what was originally a larger file (consisting of more letters) onto the same disk.

What is Sigma Six ?
Discuss this question
| Question found in Websites |
Six Sigma is a method that businesses can use to strive for excellence and customer satisfaction. It has been used successfully by companies such as Motorola and General Electric.
The Six Sigma method tries to eliminate defects in everything that results in either products or services. It attempts to assign numbers (make things measurable) to every step of a process. To be successful according to Six Sigma, a process is not allowed more than 3.4 defects per million opportunities.
There is much more to this method, but we're trying to keep it simple here. For further information, try a site such as http://www.isixsigma.com/

Who was Jesus?
Discuss this question
| Question found in Religion & Spirituality In General |
You will get different answers to this question depending on whether you ask someone who believes the Bible is completely true or someone who does not.
Jesus is the Son of God, the Creator of everything. He is also the Son of Mary, conceived by the Holy Spirit (who is also God). That makes Jesus 100% God and 100% human at the same time. Jesus became the God-man to satisfy God's requirement of perfect obedience to his laws. Jesus allowed himself to die as punishment for humans' (of all time) disobedience to those same laws. He was raised to life again as a sign that God accepted his work on earth as complete payment for the disobedience of humans. Thus God can allow imperfect humans into his perfect heaven because they believe that Jesus did this for them.
None of this can be proven scientifically. It all depends on believing the words of the Bible. For more details, I would recommend reading the Bible for yourself to see if you believe what it says.

How do you learn Java?
Discuss this question
| Question found in Programming |
As with any programming language, Java will take time and effort to learn. You could enroll in Java classes, look for tutorials online, or get books that intend to teach the language. It is often helpful to have a problem (project) in mind that you want the language to solve for you. Java may or may not be the best language to solve the problem, but at least it will be a place to start.
You may also need to purchase software to help you program. Often you can get sizable student discounts on software when enrolling in a related class.

Why is my Mozilla FireFox so much slower than Explorer ? It never use to be. I already removed all extensions, removed & re-installed.

| Question found in Computers In General |
FireFox does load slower (takes longer to get started) than Explorer. Once loaded it is usually faster at showing you Web pages however. If your copy originally was faster than Explorer, I would examine other parts of your computer to see if something else may have changed that is slowing things down. Check for spyware and other similar programs that can slow anything and everything down, not just FireFox.
