Let's imagine that both God and Satan exist. Let's also imagine that Satan manages by some mean to defeat God. Then Satan claims to be the true God while he also claims that God is Satan. Humans end believing this, Satan is worshipped as if he was God while the actual God is thought of as the bad one. Can this scenario be what is actually going on?

Discuss this question

Question found in Bible Studies
If God were not all-powerful and Satan were not one of his creatures, I suppose this could happen. As it is, God created the (good) angel now known as Satan who has since been allowed to turn to evil. Since God is still in control of everything, the situation described cannot be true.

That said, if you want to believe that God is not and has not always been in complete control, then you might also believe the situation as described.

Suggestion: Read the Bible and see what you believe when you have finished it.

Is there a reason by which humankind needs a God to exist even if it's not the Bible's God?

Discuss this question

Question found in Religion & Spirituality In General
If you believe that humankind (and the rest of the universe) was created by God, then that is the reason that God is "needed". God also keeps human life (and the workings of the universe) going, so he is needed for that as well.
