Qualifications for a DEACON. IAW the Original Free will Baptist Church & we use the KJV of the Holy Bible. 1TIM 3:8-13. 3:11 Their wives? Does this mean a Deacon must be Married?? The husband of one wife. Does this mean he only has one current wife and never has been divorced? The passage does not say has ever had but one wife. Our church is running out of Deacons, we have one left through normal attrition.

Compare the NIV: "8Deacons, likewise, are to be men worthy of respect, sincere, not indulging in much wine, and not pursuing dishonest gain. 9They must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience. 10They must first be tested; and then if there is nothing against them, let them serve as deacons.
11In the same way, their wives [perhaps, deaconesses] are to be women worthy of respect, not malicious talkers but temperate and trustworthy in everything.
12A deacon must be the husband of but one wife and must manage his children and his household well. 13Those who have served well gain an excellent standing and great assurance in their faith in Christ Jesus."
The first verses are the most important. I believe the reference to a wife means that he should not have more than one. I would not take this as a requirement that he be married.

I guess the real question is, can a divorced man be a Deacon?
In accordence with the KJV Bible

For even perfect numbers: 2^(nā1)(2^n ā 1)
That is difficult to write correctly here. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perfect_number

My mother died January 27th of 2008 of suicide. I feel she is trapped she came to my father several times and he said it was very real, she woke him from sleep saying his name, then he dreamed of her handing him a white candle and saying to him light this for me. I feel she is trapped and he is selling his house as soon as possible April 1st, what can I do to help her cross over so she will not be trapped anymore?

This vision or dream is for your father's benefit (and yours), not for her benefit. You mother's spirit (soul) is already in heaven or hell depending on whether she believed that Jesus was her Savior when she died -- no matter how she died.
If this is a message from God (and I don't doubt that it's possible), then he is trying to tell you something for your benefit before you die. (I'm not saying your father's or your death is imminent.) Perhaps -- this is only a guess -- it means that you should light your spiritual candle. This passage comes to mind: Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:16)

If you're on speaking terms with your son, why not just go for a visit? I think you want more than that, but it would be a start and show that you care.

What does the expression "drives a though" means??

Discuss this question

| Question found in English |
 |
As presented, that is a meaningless phrase. I think you may have misspelled one or more parts of it.
The closest I can think of is "drives a tough bargain" which refers to a person who tries very hard to get what he wants when making a deal.
If that's not the phrase you mean, please try asking again.

I can connect to the Internet but not the intranet. There is no connectivity issues, what is the problem?

 |
By definition, if you cannot connect, then you have connectivity problems.
An intranet is normally a closed set of computers (and servers) within a business. If that's the type of system you are trying to access, then you need to contact your intranet administrator.
If that's not the system you are referring to, then please ask again with more details.

Have you tried asking cleverdot's support for help?
Look at their cpanel (Control Panel) demo here (or access your real cpanel available through your account):

Under the Files heading, you'll see icons related to FTP, such as "FTP Accounts". You can setup a connection there to upload files, like pictures. I'm not sure if you can upload a whole DVD though. You might not have enough space for whatever price you're paying for hosting.
You'll also need an FTP program, such as WS_FTP or one of several other free programs available on the Web, to do the actual file transfers. Do a search for free FTP clients to find one you like.

Do you believe in the death penalty for criminals that have been proven beyond doubt that they are guilty of heinous crimes? Also do you think it would it act as a deterrent or would it make little difference to the perpetrator?

God has given us the "okay" to punish crimes like murder with death. He doesn't force that conclusion on us but does leave it as an option.
The purpose is to deter others from committing similar crimes, but it will never be 100% effective. If enforced consistently and swiftly, I'm sure it would deter some criminals.
Comments :
Thank-you, I agree it would never be 100% effective.
