I think my girlfriend suffers from alter personalities. What can I do to get her to get some help? When and what is the right time and right way to tell her?

Discuss this question

Question found in Health & Fitness In General
How do you know?
Is she moody, changes her mind a lot. Does it happen all the time, regularly at certain times?? What do her family and friends think?

If you think that something is wrong then the more information you have before you mention it to her the better. Your first step would be to write down her behaviours that you think need investigating and get a second opinion.
You are welcome to send me an email for me to help you if you wish.

The short answer is if she is holding down a job and keeping everything else together then it may not be as bad as you think.

Last year I was told that something was seriously wrong with my heart, they had me on top priority to receive a pacemaker. I was told that something was wrong with my QT intervals, however a few weeks before the surgery my EKG read that I was OK, after like 5 others that told me I wasn't....my Dr. told me to go home and not worry about it but a few months later my heart messed up again. This time they told me that the waves of my heart wasn't reading each other, I therefore spent 3 days in pediatric ICU they told me the EKG was bad...then I had another one a few weeks later and it was OK. I was fine for a few months but now I am getting bad palpitations all the time...I'm also short of breath and dizzy alot...so my question is...what do I do? and should I go to the dr again???

It sounds to me that you maybe suffering from some form of anxiety disorder?
If the Dr's have not volunteered a name for your condition and have let you go home then that may indicate that is some form of panic attack.

It may not be a doctor that you require but a counsellor/therapist.
I would approach these symptoms with an open mind and explore this possibility as well. Start by asking yourself the following questions:
Do you experience these symptoms in certain stressful situations? When you are removed from them, like at home, do you feel normal again?
Do you suffer from troubled sleep? Wake up too early and cant get back to sleep? Can you remember having confusing experiences when you were younger??

If you feel that I might be on the right lines then please contact me direct if you wish. Have a chat with your GP and let him know how you are feeling to get his input just in case.

I wish you well and please don't worry. ;)

Why is space black?

Discuss this question

Question found in Space & Astronomy
Because it has nothing to bounce the sun rays off.
The cosmos is so large and anything in it is so small you have to be on a planet like object before you will benefit from the suns colour effects.

Pictures taken from the surface of Mars are red in the colour range due to the fact that for us the dust is red coloured. The Moon is grey for the same reason and our planet is a made of various compounds that give us the rich hues that we know and love.

Aren't we the lucky ones then ;)

What could it mean that my 13 year old son has high levels of protein and blood in his urine and my 10 year old daughter has high level of protein in hers?

Discuss this question

Question found in Health & Fitness In General
On its own it doesn't tell us anything one way or another.
It could be an indication of some form of genetic disorder but for you to know that there is protein in their blood then that says you know that already?
You need to tell us what you know and reword the question to get the answer you are after.

With caller ID, I know who is calling, should I still answer the phone "hello"?

Discuss this question

Question found in Miscellaneous
The caller id system can be used in various ways depending on what the owner wants. You can use it to vet who is calling so you can decide to answer or not. If you choose to answer then you can decide if you want them to know that you have caller id. I suspect that for a friend it wont matter much either way. So why did you get it, was it through choice?

The bottom line is that it is your choice. Who really cares if it bothers some or not. The genuine ones maybe curious but they wont mind the insecure ones may get more paranoid.

Are the brains of male and female wired differently?

Discuss this question

Question found in Science In General
They are programmed differently due to the needs of the species.
It is traditionally viewed that the male is the provider and protector of the family unit. So they need to be built for that purpose and be able to hunt to feed the family. They will be less emotional and more aggressive and direct in their approach to situations and problems.

The female on the other hand is the one with the social skills and is required to be the unit that has babies and will nurture them, with some help from the male, to adulthood. They tend to be governed more by feelings and tend to be more able to see the bigger picture so they will be more likely to be the planner of the family.

The challenges that we are facing now is that the gender proportions are changing and we are now getting more females than males being born so the traditional ways are going and most of us can not adapt as quickly as we would like. And I suspect we as a species maybe acting insecure in the process.

Well thats my opinion for what it is worth.

I am getting bullied, I feel like killing me.

At work or school?

Please don't though as you will be a much greater loss to us all then they will ever be, and I'm afraid that comes from experience!

The thing to remember is that they are telling you more about them than they can tell about you. As long as you don't allow them to see how you feel.
The next step is to report it to whoever will listen and do something about it.
My email address is in my profile please don't hesitate to talk to me and I'll help you get through this. But don't let them beat you, they are not worth it.

How do you mend a broken heart?

Discuss this question

Question found in People & Relationships In General
I'm so sorry to hear that you have one. Most of us at some time or other have visited this club and it is never easy to come to terms with the loss. Sometimes it is made harder when you do not feel that you are to blame, it could have been them that changed or wanted more than we could give.

There is no easy answer but the quicker you can accept this situation emotionally then the quicker you can move on and rebuild your life.
Do not try and brush off the mixed feelings which may include, anger, betrayal and even guilt. You have to go through these stages which may vary in how long they last but this is all normal. In a word you you feel very unhappy but just bear with it and let it run its course. When you are ready annoy all your friends and family, because you will have a lot more free time to kill, so make plans to do things and stay busy. Even if this means going out on your own and being selfish around your house etc. Enjoy the single life and the longer the relationship lasted so should this.

When you have had enough of those two stages then you are home free, but don't make the mistake that others have done before you, rush in to a new relationship too quickly. However harmless that it may seem at the time, even a one night stand has perils for the unwary.

Take your time, have fun, and enjoy being you for a while.

Take care

I wanted to know if you knew what could cause pain on and off all the time in the lower back part of my head?

Discuss this question

Question found in Health & Fitness In General
That sounds like it could just be tension. Are you stressed at the moment?
Kids, work, partner, global warming (You never know, it could be the cause!)

Take a time out and have a gander at your life and whats going on in it and see if that helps, if not give me some more info about your lifestyle and we'll see where that goes.

Take care
