hello
 |
How can I go above my doctors nurse, I lost a lot of weight then and went on orlistat and lost another 3 stone, for the last 6 months while still on orlistat I have stayed the same, this was getting me down, my nurse said I may be able to get my excess took away and my breast lifted, I have to get a lower BMI before this can be done, she then suggested a month ago I could have a gastric band-belt, I had decided yes and when I went to see her today she told me I didn't meet the criteria again, my BMIA had to be higher, so its like I have lost all this weight for nothing, this is really upsetting me and I am being sick alot. Please help me.

Hello there,
I'm sorry that you are having some hassle achieving your goals but this isn't as clear cut for us as may first appear.
Firstly you have a conflict in the information that you are telling us above, namely that you were told that you needed a lower BMI (Body Mass Index) then you were offered a gastric belt but were then told that you needed a higher BMI. We do not know your weight so we can not get a perspective which makes it harder for us to feel confident about what advice to give.
But you still have rights, if you are not happy with instructions given by the nurse then ask to either speak to another one or ask to speak to the, or even another, doctor and get a second opinion. You can always come to us again with a more detailed question, or email it if that is easier.
What you must try and do is not to lose hope or faith, you started this ball rolling so you obviously feel that there is a problem, so go for it.
However hard it must feel to do you must remain in control and demand proper customer service if still after all that that they have not been professional then ask where you mail a complaint to and then send all the information including any names, dates and responses.
It may help you to make sure that there are some grounds and telling us a summary will allow us to help you focus on the more important aspects.
I hope that helps.
Regards

Sir/ Madam I shall be grateful if you could spare some moments reading on this mail and could guide me regarding the un fateful problem that we are facing. Although that might be of little interest to you but your advice will be unbiased and precious for us to proceed ahead. I'm a 28 guy, from & engaged to a girl name Mira.(aged 23 yrs) Let me tell you about her in brief. She is a qualified engineer and looking for a job now a days. But she is quite upset as she is unable to find a good opening for herself. But from the last many days she is facing the problem of negative thoughts/emotions/mood variations. Let me explain in detail: (1)At times if she is thinking about her father like if he for a job (although he is retired), he might face a accident or might work properly or might have any health problem etc. Similarly, if she is worried about her brother (who is in 12th standard), that whether he is studying properly or not. while thinking all this her thoughts go to the level that while thinking all this, she will start thinking that he might not get fail, or fall in relation with any girl or such stuff. Similarly, she will think about me also. These thoughts make feel guilty conscious, that she is thinking bad about her family and me too. (2) Secondly, recently (2-3 months back) I made her aware about the relationship of husband – wife that apart from emotional relations, physical intimacy is also a part of this relation. To which I explained her, in balanced manner (as if explaining in an educational manner, since I received sex educational in my high school), like I received in my high school. To which she responded excitedly and was eager to know more about it. Up to that level it was OK since we haven’t crossed our limits (haven’t developed any physical relationship so far) and are limited to hugs and kisses only. Problem started when one of her room mates in her PG, showed her a porn movie showing sexual congressions (sex intimacies) in a vulgar manner, after seeing which she was quite upset and felt bad. But to some extent , I could convince her that things are rubbish and are shown in a very cruel manner. Also after she explanation to her regarding the physical relation, we both sometimes involve ourselves in sort of sexual fantasies on phone involving both of us, to which we both enjoy, although I take care that we discuss that only when she wants. (she is quite relaxed after that) but at times feels guilty about it too. But, after wards when she is in market or else where in a crowded place, she will start staring at the private parts of other people (men and women) and would imagine about them in her mind. (she feels guilty about it too ) which is, what I think is because of the porn movie that she saw as she often tells me. Because of these 2 problems she feels low at times and it takes a lot efforts to console her and motivate her, that you go out do some walking watch TV, work on desktops etc so that you are busy. When ever she feels low while thinking about these things, she calls me and tells me all this thoughts going in her mind (during that she might get angry with me for staying in other city far off, and other topics etc.), after discussing with me (I try to boost/motivate her), she cools down and feels relaxed and is happy that she could share her feelings with me. Now the question is that whether this is a psychological/ psychiatrist problem involving some medicinal therapies or just the advices/guidance’s from a psychiatrist. Or take her for some mental rejuvenation courses involving meditations? I'm asking all this because I feel that I will get an unbiased answer to my problem since this is my problem not hers. I shall be grateful if after reading all this matter for so long , you can guide me. I shall be waiting to proceed Regards Yogesh

Hello Yogesh,
This is a complicated problem for which you will have to approach it with utmost care, you may need to encourage Mira to seek additional support so you will also need to be patient.
I get the feeling that Mira feels out of her depth and is showing signs of stress and anxiety. She may even have a history of negative experiences which maybe causing her confusions now. You need to find out more about Mira than you seem to have done so, which is worrying for me in itself.
This sounds like two uni students who have just struck up a relationship and then decided to get engaged, i suspect hormones maybe the biggest influence here, so you also need to take a step back and be a little more rational as she may not be able to be as assertive and confident as you.
She may allow herself to "guided" in to situations due to her not understanding how people should interact and this is also borne out by how you have described her behaviour above.
Find out what you can, be a big brother first and then see if it is fair to pursue a long term relationship. If you need any further advice then you know where to come.
Regards

Hello,
It must be very distressing for you both. The possible causes are many but the best thing to do would be to take her down to your local doctor and get it checked out. He may have to refer her to a specialist but it should all work out OK and the not knowing is always worse in the long run.
I wish you both well.

I am gay, if I married would my child also become gay does it depends on genes?

There has been no conclusive evidence that there is actually a gene that governs "gayness" directly. Add to that that you are only one half of the available genetic information means it is a very complicated subject to try and predict. I belong to the camp that suggests that we, as other species, may be affected by our environments and that they can affect the sex of our children as well as whether or not they will be gay.
If they are born predisposed to being gay and the environment that the child is brought up in helps the child in that direction then so be it. As long as the environment is happy and the child is protected etc then they will grow up happy and as nature intended, and no one can ask for anything more.
Good luck.

That he should be asking a doctor.
It could be anything from a form of chronic fatigue syndrome or anxiety attack to something more serious. We can not tell you because we do not have access to enough data to be able to reach a conclusion.
Get advice and then come back if we can help more.

I fell down some stairs about a month ago and immediately had a huge lump appear on my head. It has since gone down, now to about the size of a golf ball, however it is still incredibly painful. I had a CT scan and the results came back abnormal. I have soft tissue thickening outside of my skull and the great vein of galen is out of place with swelling around it. I'm just wondering what happens now and how these injuries are treated?

I don't understand why you have not been given a full explanation about your condition? Do you suffer from epilepsy or any heart conditions?
How old are you?
We are the last port of call on here and we would need to know a lot more about you then you have told us thus far.
Go back to the hospital or your doctor and ask them what this means for you exactly if you get stuck get them to write it down and either email to me direct or post it on here but whatever happens go back and get advice now.
Take care

We know how you feel but a hint as to why you are feeling paranoid is that you are stressed. I suspect that something is happening in your life that is causing you these symptoms. Has anything changed at work? How about your private life? Even the fear of being ill enough that could prevent you from working could also lead to your "Self Fulfilling Prophecy" coming true.
You need to take an objective and logical step back from your life and see where the problem maybe hiding. Once you have found it and put it into perspective then your paranoia will disappear and you will feel a lot less anxious.
Have a think about it and come back to us if you still need mine/our help.

I want to join the prison service and have done for a number of years, I have been successful with my application and have to attend for an assessment day this week. My husband is dead against the idea and will not discuss it at all with me, he has given me an altermanton that I choose to go for the interview or him as if I go to the interview then he will leave me. Help I really want to do this but he will not see my side of things. Do I just go and lie to him?

No, lying will only make the situation worse in the long run.
The solution is to find out what his real problem is, and his first answer maybe a disguise. He may feel defensive so I would keep asking him what his concerns are until your female intuition says you have the truth.
His actions do seem very extreme and dare I say it, even emotional in content. I would have to say that the shoe is on the other foot as it would have been the other way around a decade ago, how times have changed.
When you have found out what the "soppy date's" problem is then reassure him that it is a safe environment with good promotional prospects as you would be very good at it and you will have time to spend with him and you will also be a lot more satisfied and happy, don't forget to take a breath during that last paragraph. :)
I wish you all the best.
Kind regards

No, although I am happy to be corrected.
In most civilized countries that is still classed as a no no. What bothers me is that in some middle eastern countries, as well as others, seem to also allow their children to bear arms. Unless that is only me who has a problem with that.

Ban him from reading, hearing or seeing anything funny! The only thing that he is allowed to watch will be party political broadcasts, but not, for obvious reasons, from the raving loony party.
It may just be a phase or it could be a form of anxiety but to be safe speak to your doctor to rule anything out that we may not know about.
Please try and not get to protective which may make him feel more insecure, so try and be reassuring and comforting and upbeat.
I wish you all well.
