How to prepare a Bootable USB Drive in WinXP?

Discuss this question

Question found in Computers Advanced
Go to bootdisk.com and download the files and documentation for making a bootable flash drive. It will explain how to do it in theory. It can be very difficult without following the instructions exactly and you may need a good clean system formatted and bootable floppy to accomplish this.

I am operating Windows XP Home.

My hard disk has been wiped and Windows has been reinstalled successfully. However, when trying to install my various programs I get messages saying, in one instance that the CD-Rom drive is not ready and with other disks that they are corrupted and some that cab files are missing. I have cleaned the disk drive with a lens cleaner and thoroughly cleaned the various disks. I have successfully installed these disks on on to another computer to prove that they are not damaged. Could someone help me in resolving this problem? Thank you.

Look under "my computer", and see if the cd drive is showing. If not, the jumper for "cable select" may need to be repositioned from where it currently resides on the back of the cd drive. Be sure to do this with the computer off, then turn it back on, go to "my computer" and see if it shows up this time. If so, try your program installation again, if not, you may need a new cd drive.

My computer won't turn on at all, any advice?

Discuss this question

Question found in Computers Advanced
If you've moved it there may be parts dislocated inside. Otherwise, as long as you are sure you have power going into it, the connection is tight and the button is functional, it should come on. A bad power supply can cause this as well, especially if you've experienced a lightning storm lately.

What is best oil for dragstar 125cc?

Discuss this question

Question found in Motorcycles
Yamalube is recommended but any oil that is designed for a 4 stroke motorcycle engine, given the proper viscosity, should work. If you need specifications like "sf","sg" and weight, contact your local bike shop and they will tell you. A lot of synthetic oils are available now for bikes because of the high temperature and lower breakdown of the molecules in it. Generally speaking, my bike, a four stroke, twin cylinder will handle honda, suzuki, yamaha, or almost any other bike oils for a wet clutch system operating in the southeasertn U.S., (temperatures between 40 to 90 degrees), and viscosity will range at about 20w50 to 10w40. The best wet clutch performance oil that i have found so far is Yamalube, but there are others out there as good if not better, i'm sure.

hi, my bike wont start and when it does it does not rev well, and then cuts out, and it also gives a weird noise from the carburettor and the spark plug is very dark, got any ideas on what I should do ???

Discuss this question

Question found in Motorcycles
Bikes foul plugs pretty easy. It's always a good idea to have spare plugs. The mixture of the fuel is also a constant adjustment as well via the idle screw. If you are choking at each start, try to lessen the duration or intensity of choking the carbs in warmer weather if it's absolutely necessary to do that when starting. The idle adjustment will also need to be tweaked often to insure the bike runs well in all temperatures. A higher octane of petrol may also be needed. The dark plug is an indicator of many things but too rich of fuel or oil getting past the rings may be adding to the overall problem. Check and/or replace the air filter to be sure that it is getting clean air.

My 4 year old golden retriever has black flaky skin and skin under coat appears black rather than pink colour??

Discuss this question

Question found in Dogs In General
Unless there is a serious skin problem, this is fairly normal. When air gets to the skin, say, after a close trimming, the skin will become irritated and the contact with air will make the color seem darker than it should be. It's like a five o'clock shadow sometimes and the hair starts growing very fast where it is cut. Often the undercoat is also a much different color than the outer coat. The sun or wind making contact will also cause a burn to the exposed areas of skin because the coat is the dogs protection from it and the other elements.

Question found in Dogs In General
Ask your local pharmacist or vet by phone and he can prepare or tell you of a home remedy that will help. I have an old Chow and she likes a tablespoon of "milk of magnesia" every now and then.

How does the intel quad-core differ from the dual core?

Discuss this question

Question found in Computers In General
More multitasking. A single core processor handles many functions and each new layer, or core, means that you can run different programs because the processor will assign each task, or program, to different areas, (cores), of it. Generally speaking, you can reply to your email, watch cable or satellite, browse the internet, and view google earth or something similar all at the same time where a lesser processor will do it, possibly, but very much slower.
