On start up I get checking boot CD-ROM. Sometimes it goes on for along time. What does this mean?

A setting in your BIOS is allowing your computer to check if a bootable CD is in the drive. Check your CD drive and make sure that there is no CD in it. If this continues, you can manually remove this option in your BIOS but I would suspect a much bigger problem and maybe get a tech to check it for you if you aren't experienced with adjusting settings and general troubleshooting. Good luck.

I'm not certain and cannot verify but a deer in captivity or under stress will certainly dehydrate. The urine does some strange things under certain conditions.

Why is space black?
|
|
Discuss this question
|
| Question found in Space & Astronomy |
 |
It is sometimes the lack of enough light. Light will also cause it to be black. Remember the pictures of the astronauts on the moon? There were a lot of folks who thought it was a conspiracy by the government since they couldn't see the stars in the background of the pictures. When the lighting from the cameras projected towards the subjects, it cancelled out the dim light from the stars.
This same phenomenon occurs when you are in the city and all of the lights are on. You can't hardly see the stars with the naked eye or through a telescope unless you are somewhere that isn't affected by the projected light. Even the reflected light from the moon can interfere. This was a strange reminder during some of the more famous power outages like in L.A. The people could actually see the stars then because all of the lights were out.

My 22month old son is frightened of having his penis uncovered. He gets very upset and covers it. There is no swelling or redness. What could it be?

I don't want to be an alarmist but the question struck me as concerning. At 22 months this could be anything but I would like to ask you if anyone has been watching him other than yourself? If he is uncomfortable, there may be something someone has done to cause this. This is only a suspicion on my part, but maybe a more in-depth look into who is around him regularly will explain this. I hope this is not the case and good luck to both of you.

To make your home wireless network secure, you should never use the default SSID provided by the manufacturer. So one of the first things you'll want to do with a new wireless gateway is set it to something other than the defaults that it ships with. Here's some links with tips to configure:

I have a hp pavilion laptop n5390. Recently the screen faded to where you can just barely tell it is there. Can you tell me if the laptop screen is trashed or is it a setting problem?

If it flickers often, then it may only be a connection problem. If it isn't related to settings, then it could be the video adapter inside. The monitor going bad would be the worst-case scenario. I have recently worked on two HP's that I took apart and cleaned which restored the video to it's normal function. This isn't always the case and if you've no knowledge of how to work on this, (not that I do either), it may need to go to the shop for further evaluation. Good luck.

If you've allowed yourself to feel this way then you are letting them win. They do not deserve this and who are they to force you into this situation? Nobody is allowed to harm you for any reason and you should report them to someone in authority who can make them pay for this. Try asking your question again with more detail here and someone will be able to help. I know I will look for your next question if you will explain a little more. That's why we are all here.

I have a Lexus es250 1990. I took the distributor cap out. I need the diagram to install it back because I misplaced the spark plug wires?
|
|
Discuss this question
|
| Question found in Auto Repair |
 |
While the distributor is off, get someone to watch the rotor button while you turn the ignition over and see if it is running clockwise or counter clockwise.
after determining that, look on the distributor cap and there should be a mark or a "1" next to the number one plug. Now, look on the side of the intake manifold or underneath directly on the motor and there will be, stamped on the motor, for example "1,3,5,2,4,6", assuming this is for a straight 6 cylinder motor. This series of numbers is the firing order of the plugs. If it is a V6, one side of the motor will have half of the numbers and the rest on the other. When you find the number 1 cylinder, plug it to the connection on the distributor with the mark. Next will be number 2, on the distributor, if it is rotating clockwise, find the number 2 cylinder according to the numbers on the motor, and so on. It's not too hard once you find the numbers. Good luck.

Emotions are good for us if we are able to allow them to be expressed in the best possible way, even the worst of them can be done constructively. It is a hard thing to go thru this but time will always be your best friend, (yes, I know, you've probably already heard this). Time will pass and each minute of each day will heal you from this feeling. This is life's way of teaching us how to put one foot in front of the other making the distance from this situation become greater in each single step you take away from it. You just got to make up your mind that there's no turning back from this. Anger, bitterness, denial, revenge, guilt and some others will try to overcome you, especially if you may have been wronged, but there is a much better plan for your life even though you may not have discovered this plan yet.
It will be helpful to you if you don't dwell on it, although it is easier said than done, don't allow self pity within, and reaffirm your other commitments in your life that seem to have always helped you to get through the other past obstacles you may have conquered. You may feel that you are the only one this is happening to but in reality, the others just hide their emotions better than the rest of us sometimes. We are all in this together whether we want to admit it or not, even when someone we don't know is suffering.
Friends and even family can help a lot with this although it may not be immediately apparent for now. I am sorry that you are going thru this and your situation will reveal itself in a positive light once you can overcome the initial emotions, which only means that you are human like all of us are. Good luck.
