My boyfriend has lied to me in the past and we both couldn't handle it so he told me everything that he lied to me about and now people that I thought were my friends are spreading rumors that my boyfriend is calling me names and everything behind my back, but he swears to me that hes not lying and gets really mad at me when I don't believe him. How can I just forget the past and believe him now??????

Question found in Dating
It is you who wanted the truth. Be careful of what you ask for. His guilt and telling you all this is his way of being more honest with you. Now you don't believe anything he tells you because you cannot forgive and forget. Others aren't spreading rumors. It is you who thinks this and they know it gets to you so they will use it to intimidate you when they can. Those type of people will never be friends. Just because others cant be as happy as you and your boyfriend, they will inadvertently and sometimes deliberately play this unfair game that you do not have to play. It is your choice. Go with him, be happy and forget the others and what you perceive is being said or it will destroy you because you allowed it do so. Good luck to both of you.

I have been working for a company for 2 years and enjoyed my job until about 3 weeks ago when a co worker got upset with another co worker and he started calling her a bad name and me a horror and was very vocal about it. I am under a lot of stress already and need some advice. I contacted and I tried to talk to my supervisor but was brushed off.

Keep in mind that most people who practice name-calling still haven't graduated the 3rd grade. If he is angry at you because of association with someone else, then he's confused and a very bad judge of character anyway. If the boss won't do anything about it, then contact the next level up from him or her. Nobody has the right to interfere with your livelihood(job) as long as you've done nothing wrong.

I noticed a lump on my dogs back closer to his tail. What is it?

Discuss this question

Question found in Dogs In General
The first thing that comes to mind is a snake bite. I had 2 dogs with this same problem before and I don't understand why the bites were at this specific location. This is only an assumption in your case as other problems/injuries can often contribute to this effect. The vet will be able to offer some solutions with a simple phone call to his office. It is something to be taken seriously in either case.

How do you discipline a young teen effectively?

Discuss this question

Question found in Parenting & Family In General
This will depend upon the circumstance which creates the need for discipline. I often will jokingly tell mine that all kids should have a daily beating, but of course, they know I am not serious about that part of it. When it is time for discipline, do it calmly and with no symptoms of anger. If the teen looks up to you for guidance, then this can begin with a statement such as, "I am very disappointed", or "do you enjoy being grounded for something within your control?" I will also tell them, "we can do this the easy way or the hard way".

A parent as a friend is OK as long as you also remain the parent at all times. There are boundaries which should always be defined, this way, if a line has been crossed, there's no confusion as to where the line has always been. The consequences for crossing the line can be anything from taking away some privileges such as driving, having friends over, house arrest, sports, hobbies, etc. It does hurt to discipline kids and it can be very hard to decide on a punishment but if the teen doesn't respect your wishes, then it's often the only option available. I will set specific goals for mine to accomplish if they wish to shorten the period of punishment. This always helps them to see what they are actually capable of and how easily you can compromise as a parent with options for doing the right things instead of the wrong ones. Good luck to you.

My PC will not allow me to download any software, videos etc

Discuss this question

Question found in Computers For Beginners
If you are trying to do this at work, talk to your administrator. If at home, check on your other recent users settings or adjustments as well as yours. A more aggressive setting in your firewall or your internet security will often cause this. Try a full system scan with your antivirus program first. Then, if all checks out, go with the default internet settings and then see if it helps you. Also, the latest controls, activex, java, video and audio codecs, etc. can be found at download.com if it is that type of problem.

My ex husband wants to see our grandchild, we were "allowed" to see him occasionally until we told her Logan needed to be in school. She took him out of school about two years ago and is not home schooling him either. What can we do about him going to school and also seeing him on a regular basis?

Discuss this question

Question found in Human Rights
Correct the bigger issue of school first. You already know how to do this if you really want to and since it's not supposed to be about anyone else but the child's well-being anyway. The ex-can wait and doesn't need your help but the kid certainly does. 2 years may be lost already.
